I would love some help since I am relatively new to co-sleeping! Anyway, my 3 month old son is a great co-sleeper, usually only wakes after 7-8 hours of sleep and then will go back to sleep. My problem is, the last week or so he will not stay asleep if I am not in bed! I know he needs more sleep, but if I get up, he gets upset.

This is what usually happens:
He usually wakes up about 20 minutes before I have to get out of bed to get ready for work. He nurses and falls back asleep. I'll slowly start to slide away and his little arms flail about until he finds me and then he scoots over to me. So I wait a bit and scoot away, then his little arm searches for me again and he scoots over. This happens over and over. If I get out of bed completely he'll start to flail around and start crying. So, inevitably I have to get him up and put him in the bouncy seat while I get ready for work. He always falls asleep about an hour after waking up. The biggest problem is the one day of the week I wake at 5:30. I've tried to snuggle him up with my DH but he will have none of it, he just flails and cries. So my poor DH, who doesn't have to get up until 8 that day, is forced to get up at 5:30 and my LO is up too. (5:30 is only 8 1/2 hours of sleep)

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get out of bed without my LO noticing? Or how to make him know it's ok to stay asleep if I'm not there? He'll sleep during the day by himself, but wants none of it in the morning. It's becoming very stressful for me!

Thanks for any insight!
