Hi there!

Dd (6 wks old) and I are getting are act together co-sleeping. I got soooo much sleep last night because I wasn't getting out of bed to change her everytime she nursed.
But I don't want her sleeping in a wet diaper either. Currently we are using Little Lambs AIO's with micro-fleece which I LOVE but she does tend to soak through them at least once a night. I'm looking for an AIO (preferably but will consider others) that will last at least half the night and will keep her feeling dry. Baby girl does NOT like the feel of a wet diaper and lets mommy know right away.

Or am I just kidding myself and the reality is there isn't anything that will take dd through the night?

TIA for your help and recommendations!

I recommend a Fuzzi Bunz. Not an AIO, but close enough. Stuffed with two microterry inserts has worked for my super soaker little guy.

I use a fitted with two snap in doublers, an additional terry or hemp doubler, a fleece topped doubler and a piece of additional fleece (my fleece top doublers don't seem to wick well, which is why I put the extra fleece in there). I cram all of this inside a stacinator double fleece cover.

My poor DD can't MOVE in this diaper, but she stays dry for 12 hours.

I think its asking alot of an AIO to last through the night, unless its specifically designed for night use. Do you have room in the LL to boost it with a joeybunz or something similar? Otherwise Fuzzibuns, Happy Heinys and the like should work at your baby's age. Otherwise a good hemp fitted and wool cover. I stopped changing my daughter in the night at about 8 weeks from memory, they do get wetter early on as they nurse in the night but Happy heinys got us through no problem. It was only later we had to move on to fitted's and wool.

I've had the exact same dilemma. Ds is 3 wks old and I have neever had a kid who can soak a diaper like he can, I'm hoping it's a newborn thing and he'll not be wetting as heavily as he gets bigger.

Anyhoo, in the meantime I change him all day about every 30 min when he's awake and if he naps for a stretch, (an hour or two), he'll wake up with a wringing wet diaper. At night I was changing him every time he stirred to nurse, which was a lot. But I still felt bad that if he slept a 3 or 4 hour stretch, he'd be lying in a sopping diaper. (This was with a hemp fitted and wool soaker, so it wouldn't leak but his skin would be sooo wet. Even with a fleece liner or doubler, he'd pee so much that he'd still feel wet).

So I got some small FBs and I stuff them with 2 or 3 joey bunz and change him once a night. I get more rest this way (so much easier to just latch him on and not have to wake up enough to change a dipe). I keep the second FB stuffed and ready to go right next to the bed so that it won't be too bad the one time I do change him. He still feels wet after awhile in an FB, but they keep him drier than anything else I've tried so far.

Sorry for writing a book, I have a nb and 2 toddlers so I don't get out much and spend a ton of time naking and talking about diapers too much. :LOL

We were using Fuzzi Bunz at night stuffed with two Joey Bunz until recently. they were leaking out the sides (ds sleeps on his side mostly) so we started using a wool soaker over that. It worked a few times, but that, too began to leak. Then, after a little experimentation, I found the perfect combination. Now we are using a sugarpeas hemp diaper with a fleece topped doubler, with a joey bunz underneath the doubler. On top of that we're using a mother-ease airflow cover. It's working so well, not one drop has leaked out. I was getting so tired of waking up every morning in a puddle.

We use FB with (3) joey bunz. It is the only diaper we have been able to get through a whole night with. No gaps, no leaks...Yey! Ds is a super soaker and we were going crazy trying to figure something out. FUZZI BUNZ to the rescue!

I know I'm probably biased, but wool on top of anything super absorbant (a couple of prefolds, a fitted with a doubler, etc) will keep the outside dry (provided the baby isn't a houdini pee-er, but since its a girl I think you're safe
)

I've even been known to put wool on top of a (GASP) disposie! (It was for dd's christening and I didn't want to take any chances!!!)
