Ok I have always wondered how this worked (for you hard core co-sleepers)...
When your children need more sleep than you, how do you put them to sleep? Do you lay down in the bed with them until they fall asleep, then leave and return when you yourself go to sleep? Is this an odd question?

I co-slept with my daughter for almost the whole first year, but now she is in her crib (well when she wants to be anyway!)

Just wondering how you guys do that...

Yeah, that's what I do, and what we do for naps. At least in theory. In practice, it seems, ds just stays up until I go to bed at night, either awake or asleep on me in the living room.

We co-sleep with my 6y/o and 8m/o dd's. The baby's bedtime is 7pm and the 6y/o goes to bed at 8pm (that might get later now that it's summer). I just go in and nurse dd2 down until she's asleep and then I go in and read a story to dd1 when it's her bedtime. Sometimes the babe wakes up before I'm ready for bed and I go in and nurse her and leave again. I'm usually ready for bed at 11 and I just go in there and lay down. Sometimes dd2 wakes up and wants to nurse right when I get in there sometimes she doesn't.

We have a twin and a queen matress pushed together against a couple of walls and off of the bed frames. This made it so my dh didn't feel too cramped. I think there's even room for a third baby this way. It's also nice because we only have two bedrooms in our house and we can use the second room as a nice playroom for our girls
