Does anyone have a good strategy for coping with the black flies. I am putting Natrapel on my girl, but they seem to find spots on her hairline, in her ear, any place that I seem to miss. Then she's itchy and grouchy about it. And then we have to bathe because we can't stand to smell like citronella when we sleep. I have been RUNNING out to the garden while she naps, but not getting much accomplished. I know they'll be gone in a couple weeks, but by then much of the gardens will be unruly. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry to say, haven't found any way to deal with them either, but I feel your pain. My kids don't even want to go outside right now. It's been so ugly out, haven't really wanted to myself! Good luck and let me know if you find anything that is not posted here. I have read about a good mosquito and tick repellent that you spray on your yard once a month. It is a very strong concentration of garlic. Haven't tried it yet, I just ordered it online. GOOD LUCK!

We feel so trapped here by those flies! We can not go out at all! Meadow got a bunch of bites on her left ear today and it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO swollen, I was thinking I may have to take her to the DR. It does not even look like an ear at this point all red and swollen and like flat out, like Dumbo's. I feel so bad for her. I actually ordered some bug spray that is supposed to work on them, so if it does I will let you know where to get some. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY this year, it's too cold!!!
