Our coffee grinder just blew out today.
We had a Cuisinart, cost was around $35.00. I have found some flaws in this grinder and do not wish to repurchase the same model.

I'm thinking about getting a Kitchenaid like this one

Does anyone have any suggestions. We do grind spices and flax seeds. I've heard that you cannot grind anything but coffee in burr grinders.

Thanks for the help.

I have a blade grinder from Starbucks from like two years ago. It was $30 I think. But I only do coffee in it. I have a separate, cheap $10 grinder that I use for flaxmeal and oatmeal.

If you are a coffee afficionado, as a former Barista, I would suggest getting a blade grinder for coffee and getting a cheapo for the other stuff. Clutter, yes. But more effective and better coffee. I saw Starbucks has a Krups blade grinder for like $60. Worth it if you really love your coffee.

I have a krups one that my mom got me years ago from Target (probably 10 years) and it's awesome. I only do coffee beans in it, but I like my coffee ground to like turkish consistency so I have put it through the paces.
