Eeeks...I think I'm getting addicted!!

I haven't had my cuppa yet this morning and I have a MEAN headache. The thing is, I've never been so REPULSED by coffee as I am today (I think 'cause it's making me hurt)

Any tips for helping with the headache?? Think it will make my nursing 9 mo old uncomfortable to not get HIS caffein kick?? I usually only have one cup in the AM, twice this week though I've had a second throughout the day....signs to me that it's time to take a break!

Speaking as someone with a pot a day habit, maybe you shouldn't go cold turkey? Have you thought of decaf? There are decaf coffees that don't use chemicals to take the caffeine out. It might even trick your body into thinking that you are still having your coffee.

I've weaned off coffee a few times. I highly recommend having a cup or two of green tea. You'll get some caffiene into your system so the withdrawal won't be as harsh. Then slowly decrease the amount of tea you drink each day.

I quit coffee early this summer due to trying IVF and wanting to optimize my chances. I only have one 'latte' every morning and didn't expect the horendous headaches that I had - almost a solid week of pounding headaches. I drank a lot of water and slept some, but basically I just had to suffer through until one magical day they ended.

Now that the IVF didn't work, I'm back to my 1x per day coffee.
Guess I'll have to suffer again if I ever want to quit again.

My headache's gone today, but I'm all done with coffee for a while...I think I resent it a little that it can make me feel that way if I don't have it. I'll show it!!

I kicked the coffee/caffeine habit 13 years ago. I was so addicted. If I didn't have my first cup on time in the morning I suffered unbelievable headaches and shakes. It didn't matter how much coffee I drank after the withdrawal symptoms started, once I'd missed the morning fix there was no making up for it. I got tired of the addiction and went cold turkey. Headaches and shakes, heart palpitations for about 5-6 days and then it was over. I've never gone back! Kick the monkey off your back!

Kick it and keep it kicked! I FINALLY got rid of a two-pot-a-day monkey that had been on my back for years. I couldn't stand the taste of it during pregnancy, but I still had to go through the withdrawl symptoms and started right back up after the baby was born.

I quit smoking cold turkey 10 months ago and started trying to quit caffeine a few months later and I honestly don't know which was worse! I mostly quit coffee cold turkey, with a few slips, but found some very stale black tea in the back of a cabinet and got myself readdicted to caffeine. I weaned off of that with green tea, Yerba Mate, and other warm beverages with smaller quantities of caffeine and then finally traded those for RRL and a relaxing chamomile blend when I was TTC in July.

I didn't get a BFP, but I did finally get comfortable with being Caffeine free and I hope I NEVER have to go through that again!
