Both DS and I have the cold and while we don`t feel completely miserable it`s not pleasant either. Do any of you wise mommas know what would help relieve the symptoms? Would hot water with lemon help? I can`t think of anything at the moment. My brain is on vacation..

Oh, I feel your pain! When I was 5 weeks pg, I had an awful cold that turned into bronchitis within about 3 days. You can try a Netti Pot or some type of sinus rinse to clear out your nasal passages. For a sore throat or to loosen the "junk" that sometimes sticks in the back of your throat during a cold, my favorite natural remedy is to mix about 1 T. of apple cider vinegar and a t. of honey in a cup of warm water and gargle it.

I hope you feel better soon!

Hot water with lemon is supposed to be good, and you can put honey in it, which is especially good for coughing. Steam also helps, lots of rest and fluids, and avoid dairy. You can find a lot of good natural tips if you do a google search.

Steep a tablespoon of grated ginger in your hot water with honey & lemon. Ginger is an awesome anti viral. If you have a juicer you could make a ton of delicious juice chock full of ginger. Also, take echinacea of course. I got some echinacea throat spray that gives about 15mins of blissful throat numbness. For a headache, they say acetaminophen is the safest while pregnant.

All good responses: Lemon, raw honey, raw apple cider vinegar and lots of fresh garlic (incredibly anti-viral and anti-bacterial). Chew and swallow a few cloves with your evening meal but don't expect to be getting close the the hubby any time soon. I've been able to stop many a cold in its tracks with steam + tea tree oil, garlic and apple cider vinegar.

I recommend Manuka Honey for any time one might feel a cold coming on. It's medicinal grade honey. http://www.amazon.com/Wedderspoon-Or...6717804&sr=8-1

It is a natural antibiotic and boasts the immune system, it totally works miracles.
I have a tspn of it with warm (not boiling) water and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice. about 3x a day until feeling better.

Oh ladies, You are wonderful
I haven`t tried lemon tea or anything. Life has been about DS. I really don`t think it`s the cold anymore. It looks like he has the flu. His fever spiked yesterday and he was really not like himself. His fever is down today and he is feeling/looking better. Oh, and I just haven`t had time to think about myself Come to think of it, I think I`m feeling better. But I`m off to try your suggestions...though I must admit that ginger sounds like it`ll make me :puke
