Is it better to work you way into a TF diet or to go cold turkey?

I'm curious what others think. I have three kids and a Dh (Mr ooooooooooo....oreos!) plus myself to get going on this. And I will confess that I have my weaknesses too but I have found things that I can substitute and that solves the cravings.

I made changes as I learned about them. Just when I thought I was doing everything right I would learn something new! A lot of people start by cutting out all processed foods, artificial colors and preservatives. Next add some grass fed beef, raw dairy and pastured poultry. Then explore soaking nuts and grains. Fermenting comes next and soon you'll find yourself digging up your backyard to put in an organic garden. Before long you'll be bugging your husband to buy you a farm so you can have your own chickens and a couple of cows. It takes about a year or so to get to that point!
Keep reading and make little changes as you can. It's a learning process for all of us! Above all else-enjoy!
Good luck on your journey!

Baby steps!! Switching all at one is so hard, and very expensive, when you dont really know what you want yet and how to go about it.
And if you start simple, it will be easier on every one. Maybe start with simple things like replacing your sweeteners with more traditional ones and cutting down, making bone broth, keeping your eyes out for raw dairy and pastured meats...

Good luck!

So good to know I'm not the only one who has made this progression

Cool, I was curious since I know that everyone does things differently. My basic plan is to start with only stuff where we can look at the label and tell at first glance *exactly* what is in it. KWIM? I know that Dd1 has some behavior reactions to all the additives etc in food these days. I'm going to have to baby step Dh into most everything past that. I do garden already though and do not use anything on it other then water.

Too bad the rabbits are eating everything before it gets more then an inch tall.

As for the farm the funny thing is that before all of this started coming about Dd1 asked Dh in the car if when we moved next we could get cows.

I vote for gradually, as well, unless there are acute health problems being exacerbated by the current food choices (gluten intolerance or food allergies, for instance). Changing everything all at once can cause resistance and resentment, and ultimately be counter-productive.
