This might be a silly question but i had to ask. i have been bfing for 9 months now and it never occurred to me that getting my hair colored might be a bad thing for my ds. could it be?

I personally do it and don't see a problem with it. I just get highlights though. I would think it wouldn't be a problem as long as you're not doing it every month or something <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Many studies say it is fine. But as always its a personal decision.

I don't do it, but that's just because of my own intuition making me feel uneasy about it--I've never seen an article or study about the topic at all.

It's fine. I'm a hairdresser...I specialize in color. I colored hair through both of my pregnancies, including coloring my own hair. The kids don't have 2 heads or anything<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br>
I nursed my son for 2 years.....never changed my job and continued to color my own hair as well. He's a big healthy 4 year old!

Ideally I wouldn't risk the exposure but in the real world I'm five months postpartum with the hair loss to prove it and am otherwise not feeling very pretty. Once a month or so I colour my hair, I'd feel really crappy with roots and greys and such.
