Awesome!
Thank you and it's funny that you mention that about the middle name. I am still torn on what to do. It is a family tradition that the 1st born daughter takes the maternal grandmothers name as her middle name. This is where Cynthia comes from. While I think my mother has a beautiful name, I almost have my heart set on Charle, which is the name of my dearly departed godmother who passed away last October. My mother has subtly expressed how hurt she would be if I broke this long-standing family tradition by using Charle as a middle name. What to do huh?

Ah yes, the family name tradition. My family's tradition is that all the women are named some variation of Mary (Marie, Mary-Claire, Moira, etc.). My mother decided to break tradition but still stay close, so my name is Margaret. But let me tell you, my grandmother threw a fit when she learned that my name wasn't a variation of Mary.

I guess it's sort of lucky that my mom doesn't like her all that much anyway.

Aislyn is pronounced Ash-lyn in actual Irish-just an FYI from your friendly neighborhood Irish-American not that it matters here in the USA but I thought you might want to know! I have a great friend named Aisling (from Ireland so Ash-ling) who had taught me some of those crazy irish rules!

I knew someone had to call me on it
We knew that but changed it b/c we like the sound of the aze better. That's o.k. right?? We're not offending anyone Irish by doing so are we??

I also vote for Delia because I think people will make pronunciation mistakes less frequently than with Aislyn. Plus Delia is very pretty.

I also vote for the two middle names. The best of two worlds and nobody will be upset!

I have a friend who named her dd Aislin, and it has been unfortunately hard to live with. Everyone has shortened it to "Ays," because nobody knows how to pronounce it. If you are going for the Irish thing, I say either choose something familiar in your area or spell it phonetically.
I LOVE Cynthia. I think it is underused. I wish it had come up with one of my dd's. I would have used it if I had thought of it.

I vote Danae Cynthia
