Does anyone know if you can put 100% cotton fabric in the compost? I would think you could but wonder how small the pieces have to be or how long it takes to break down? What about dyes?
Yes, you can put cotton in the compost (dryer fluff works too), although it may take a while if it is a big piece, but it will break down. You shouldn't have to worry too much about dyes - it's not like that's a significant part of the compost or even the fabric to affect things.
