Hi everyone,

I am 34 and having just been diagnosed with compound hetero gene mutation for blood clotting disorder.

Has anyone had this? I have had 2 miscarriages back and back and this is what they told me.

The are going to try me on levonox (a blood thinner) as soon as I get pregnant again and told me to do the baby aspring thing daily until then.

I was just curious if this is what caused them. My OB cant guranteed this is it, but it doesn't hurt to try..so..I was just curious if anyone else had any success on it?

Hi Tracy!

I too have blood clotting genes. I am positive for Hetero Factor V Leiden, Hetero MTHFR and have some elevation in my anticardiolipin antibodies.

I have never been pregnant but all this was discovered as I had gotten a DVT in my left arm 2 years ago and I have been on coumadin (a blood thinning medication) ever since. I was just taken off in early October and me and my husband have just started to TTC. I too will probably be taking heparin or lovenox upon a positive pregnancy test.

All of the news you're probably hearing can be overwhelming but once you get a better understanding of your gene and using injections while pregnant I promise it won't be as daunting. Many women go on to have babies with this condition.

What did you test positive for?

If you have Factor V there's a great support group that is out there:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/FVL-PG/

where a lot of other women are going through the same thing and many have had successful pregnancies with the treatment.

Hope this helps!
Alex
