OK, maybe this is a dumb question, but how come so many covers are solid-colored on the outside with a cute print INSIDE? And how come so many fitteds are so cute when you are just going to cover it up?

I can't help you with the covers....never seen one like that myself (but I just use Bummis, wool and fleece so maybe that's why)...as for the fitteds - to torture us!
I leave my DS coverless in super cute fitteds around the house and admire his bum.

Don't know on the cover question - none of mine are like that...

About the fitteds - this gets asked a lot and I remember asking it too. I let DS hang out pretty much exclusively in just a fitted at home and only use the covers for when we go out or he's sleeping. So I get lots of looks at the prints!

But for those that always cover? Well, I guess they look cute on the changing table and in the diaper bag! :LOL Plus they are like a little surprise gift everytime you open the cover!

I've been wondering what would happen if one sprayed on the waterproofing spray on the outside of a fitted...

It's like when you buy yourself cute undies. Nobody sees em but they still make you happy.

About leaving your DS coverless: aren't you afraid he will get something wet/poopy??? Sorry -- I'm new at this!

Thanks!

He doesn't do major soak throughs right away, esp if I put him in a hemp fitted. Once I notice he's wet, he gets changed. He's almost a year old, so his poops are peanut buttery and arent going anywhere. I always put a cover on if he's going to be wearing pants/shorts.
Don't worry about asking questions - we have all been there, and we all still ask questions!
I looked at your link and now I get it.
From what I know about PUL, the solid colours are more leakproof than the prints. No idea why.
Guess they're just having some fun with the print microfleece inners!

We go coverless with a wool liner under the doubler and the actual diaper never gets wet. Its AWSOME -- we only do this at home though.

Nope - we use fitted so they contain poopies really well and I change his dipe everytime he's wet at home so no need to worry about him getting something wet other then his diaper. Well, occasionally he gets me wet because he wants me to carry him to a new dipe but other then that it's all good!!

Well, the inner on those is microfleece, which won't work as a cover alone. But it's just fun to have something cute to make an otherwise mundane task a little more fun.
And about going coverless... as long as you have an absorbent diaper on babe and change after every pee, then you won't usually get too wet. I usually add an extra doubler when he's coverless, just to make sure.
