Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Tonight we got good news--DS's sepsis workup came back all negative (My GBS status was unknown because I was supposed to have the test at my next MW visit and didn't have antibiotics in my system for four hours before he was born, so annoying hospital protocol required this) and he is drinking tons of my colostrum, so it looks like he will have a shorter NICU stay than my DD, who was there for 2-1/2 weeks.
I feel like a walking advertisement for VBAC with a MW. No one can believe I'm up and around, doing stuff, picking my older kids up from school, because their idea of post-childbirth is significant disability. When I tell them I had a wonderful delivery with no tearing or episiotomy and that I feel 90% back to normal, they can't believe it. I know if I had been attended by an OB, he or she would not have been so patient (I had a long 2nd stage, an anterior lip and a baby who was slow to descend) and I would have ended up with an instrument delivery or a C-section. Yay MWs!
