Last night Imade some connections of DS's behavior to SID-like behavior. Most of the things are not a big deal, but we have begun to have serious pinching issues.

Starting at around 6 mos, DS started pinching me to the point of scabs and bruises. I tried my best to stop him, but at 2 1/2 he is still pinching. He is nursing much, much less now. He has transferred his need for pinching to neck pinching. He began to occassionally pinch my waddle over the summer. I am able to stop him with a gentle reminder. He doesn't even realize he is doing it. Recently, he has begun to pinch his own neck. It is swollen red and has red bruise-like marks on it. I haven't mentioned it to him yet, because I feel like without a plan I will not be able to help him stop and will only create a power struggle.

He also pinches and pulls his testicles really hard.

He also expresses sensory issues in other ways, but none that concern me like this - they just sometimes make me sigh.
Also, I realized that DH must have had issues like this when he was a young child.

I want to figure out ways to help him have a healthier sensory outlet - and have a better insight into his behavior.
