Can we complain and commisserate? I've been having nice Braxton Hicks contractions in the evenings pretty regularly for say a couple months. They get annoying and all, sure. But Saturday I had about 5-6 hours of more intense ones most of which were 5-7 minutes apart, with some mild cramping. Starting losing my plug that morning, too. I was honestly thinking this was NOT it, but after going to bed and having them pretty much stop ... I became pretty disappointed and frustrated Sunday night : after thinking that maybe I would go into REAL labor that day. Today I've been tired (although I slept well) and my legs are sore and my hips often achy with those shooting pains (not sciatica, just ... from relaxin?). So ... I guess I am feeling silly and ashamed for thinking labor would happen so soon.

I'm 38 weeks today and had DD at 39 weeks, and lost my plug 4 days before her birth and can't seem to get all those numbers out of my head ... Ugh, what a basketcase!? I'm trying to stay active and busy, but the cloud of disappointment and the unknown is just hanging on and weighing me down. Geez, it's just been a few days! Is anyone else doing this to themself? Can you help me get in a better state of mind?

I have been having painful, irregular contrax for 3 wks now Last night I had them all night long 10 min apart but nothing else, a little contrax this morning but thats it. I am tired, spent, my uterus is tired of contracting so much. My body should just be ready to get this baby out. I do have a feeling that once "real" labor kicks in its going to go very fast, I am guessing I am probably about 5-6 cm dialated...

i'm not contracting but i was going to say (like julie) that your labors will probably go quickly because your body is doing so much work right now! it must be hard, though, to have all these contractions & be uncomfortable & tired. i've just got the last two working against me and that's enough!

I've been having some pretty hard and strong Braxton-Hicks lately, and I'm only 36 weeks. They actually picked up two contractions on my NST this morning, and I was only hooked up for 25 minutes. I am really not interested in having this baby before 38 weeks, but that means a minimum of two weeks more of these stupid contractions! Oh, well. I guess I can put up with it for a while longer.

Yeah, Saturday when I was contracting so much DH was unaware for a while, and when he found out was running around getting stuff ready - packed the bag, car seat in the car, cooking dinner, etc. and I kinda felt (feel) resentful that he's not more physically and emotionally present when I'm contracting. Then again, this could go on for a week or so and he can't be omnipresent.

Today I awoke feeling icky and have since been nesting and full of energy. At least I'm able to be busy and productive and can focus on something else besides my uterus.

I've been having pretty strong BH contractions since 36 weeks and for almost 2 weeks now have been having them pretty regularly. On Saturday night I had them every 6 minutes a part for a few hours and I thought for sure I would be going into labor soon--then they stopped and haven't been that regular and strong since. I hate that because I don't know when it is the time but to wait through hours and hours of contractions and then if they keep getting stronger I guess I will then know (the same thing happened with DS2 but I was 41 weeks and knew I was 3cm dilated and didn't take any chances. We waited for 2 hours before heading to the hospital...and it was real labor).

Wow, you understand (although I wasn't totally sure)! I was very luck with DD, though, contractions started just once and although we weren't 100% sure, they just continued to get stronger thru the night and it was clear I was in labor. I only had a few BH with her, so there was no confusion or teasing.

I am soooooo glad I'm not the only one! I thought maybe my body was defective. I was induced with DS1 and planned c-section with DS2 so I have never gone into labor on my own. I'm planning a VBAC for this birth and for the past 2 weeks I have about 15-20contractions a day Sometimes they come at regular intervals like 5-7 minutes apart for a couple of hours. Because nothing seems to be really happening, I have become rather disheartened everytime I have a contraction. I went from wondering excitedly "Is this it?" to "This is never going to happen". I'm trying to keep up a PMA (positive mental attitude) but waiting is HARD! It's a full moon tonight and raining here. I'm due in 7 days so maybe tonight the contractions will find their rhythm and finally bring my daughter into this world!
