Beans freeze just fine. I've done it many times. I think canning them would be a lot more work, so if you have the freezer space, I'd do that.
You can use freezer bags, or small containers (like Gladware, or what-have-you). Cook them as usual, pop into the freezer. Refried beans freeze well, too. And they thaw pretty quickly -- if you're using them in a soup or stew, you can just add them directly from the freezer.
