Interesting but other than that a business-school graduate found his program usable I did not find the article itself to be stunning, kwim? I was hoping there would be something *new* or *exciting* in the story of gettng to know him, but in the end the article seemd simplistic.

I didn't know a single thing about Ramsay before reading this, other than "the envelope system" and that his fans on MDC talk about him with a zeal bordering on the religious, which I have always found off-putting.

Now I know where it comes from.

Although I've never been to a live event, I thought this article really focused more on Dave's faith, over his debt free message.
True DR is a Christain, but people don't listen to him for his faith, they listen to him for his method of claining control over one's finaces.

I used DR's methods to become debt free, and never not once felt that I was being wacked over the head with his faith.

I totally support his debt free message and encourage everyone to check it out if they are having issues with managing their money, he has a true message and it totally works.

I grew up in a very Christain environment, but am not praciting any religion at this time, but still never felt that his faith message was intrusive in my goal to become debt free.

Really? I thought she detailed his debt-free message pretty well. She did refer to some other Christian preachers with the same message, though. And when I read DR's book, he does explain his motivation as Christian, so it's hard to miss.

That is his motivation and reason for his position on being Debt free...he also uses math and psychology ( changing habits , paying smaller bills to see faster results to keep motivated). Hence the reason we get excited we stay focused...honestly its like quitting smoking , drinking , biting nails etc we have to change habits on so many levels.

I'm not Christian and neither is my DH we both found it not pushy and came from many different perspective. He does though have a large christian following. That doesn't mean that the program is wrong.

Yep, I agree. He made clear his moral leanings, but I never felt he meant his program only worked for Christians.

Cool indeed! Thanks for sharing.

I search out Dave-related stuff to keep me motivated. I actually find it kinda hard to come by, so a blurb like that is just right! And for a person flipping through the paper, it really is cool that it suggests there's "another way" of doing things for those who are looking for/need one.
