DS has been congested for a little over a week. We run a vaporizer (cool mist) in his bedroom at night w/eucolyptus & lavendar oils in the water, give him warm baths or have him in the bathroom while one of us showers (so he gets the steam), give him saline drops. But nothing seems to be making a difference. Now he's developing a cough. no fever though.

would a warm humidifier work better than the cool-mist vaporizer? any other suggestions appreciated!

TIA!

If the steam in the shower isn't helping, I don't think a steam humidifer would either. They're not recommended for use around children anyway because of the scald hazard they present--they can be tipped over, or the cord yanked on, etc.
