Our awesome cooperative playgroup is looking to find two new children
to join us for the second semester (January through June), as two of
our families are moving out of the city. Urban Village Playschool
currently meets two mornings a week, Tues/Thurs, 9:30-12:30pm, in the
Park Slope area. The group consists of 8 children and a fabulous,
Bank Street-trained teacher who grounds her practice in Reggio-Emilia
The two children should be between ages 2.5 and 3.5 years old and
should live in the Park Slope area. To maintain the balance of this
group, preference will be given to girls. Because we meet in families’
homes on a rotating basis, a parent should be available to assist our
teacher during their rotation. Incoming families would be asked to
commit through the spring with the option to continue into the 2011/12
school year.

We formed our group around a shared interest in reflective parenting
practice, conscious/mindful living, and a healthy dose of humor and
moderation in all things. Over the last few months, we have turned
from a group of people with a shared interest, into a warm and
connected community of folks who care about each other as well as all
of our children. Our cooperative is child-led and full of art, music,
movement, stories, play, and nature, with strong attention paid to
social-emotional health and development, and we are having a blast!

If you’re interested, please send an email telling us a little bit
about yourself to Piper Harrell at [email protected] We look forward
to hearing from you!
