Cora Bay finally arrived on Tuesday, January 8, at 3:53 a.m. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. She has a full head of black hair and is gorgeous! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><br><br>
My birth was a wild ride. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/dizzy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Dizzy">: I'll write up the whole story someday, but for now, let me just say that after over 30 hours of intense natural labor, including three hours of super-intense transition, I had a c-section. As crazy as it seems, I am thrilled with the experience. I was surrounded by wonderfully supportive and skilled people, and I know we did our very best to get her out vaginally. I am at peace with this birth.<br><br>
Cora was 10 days past her EDD and she definitely looked like a post-dates baby -- peely skin, loooong fingernails, partially calcified placenta, the works.<br><br>
I am in love with my new girl! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"> She's a great nurser and seems very relaxed and calm. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/stillheart.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stillheart">:<br><br>
Thanks to the mamas in this DDC who hung in there with us post-dates birthers. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"> The support was invaluable.
