My babe has nice, soft waldorfy doll that she loves, but a friend has a Corolle doll (tidoo, I think) that she LOVES. She grabs the baby and won't let go!

But I'm not sure which to get for her--

I really like the soft-bodied Babipouce Christening.

Or Calin ?

DD has two Corolle dolls -- one soft body and one with the molded arms and legs. She much prefers the molded one (plus the clothing comes off; a big plus for her b/c a naked baby is a better baby as far as she's concerned!).

My 15mo definitely prefers her Calins to softer dolls.

I wonder why-- do they just look more 'real?' I have two boys so the land of baby dolls is new to me I was a total tomboy, so I don't really remember playing with dolls. But she loves her friends--she carries it everywhere.

Grazie, Kawa Kamuri!

The Tidoo that my dd has can go in the tub. She loves that. She doesn't play with her a ton otherwise because she's usually hanging in the bathroom drying. But it's a fun doll if your child likes to take baths...

Thank you Tidoo fans for weighing in... I thought about Tidoo, but that will have to be down the line. I'm sure she would love to play in the tub with the babe, but she would be frustrated that she couldn't take him out with her... Right now she always takes whatever she is playing with out of the tub...

But I do like the Tidoo a lot! (maybe that one will be for me )

I just got 13mo dd calin a few weeks ago. While I was undoing all the dang twisties from the box, she was trying to grab it, getting excited, kinda growling.. lol (she pulls at my shirt and kinda growls when she wants to nurse. her cute little growl tends to mean "i want that!") When I finally got her free, I handed it to her and the first thing she did was rock her in her arms, then gave her a hug. It was so sweet!

There is something about these dolls! My daughter grabbed the floor model of a Calin doll at the toystore and wouldn't let go. She LOVES this doll. She's only one and I wouldn't have even thought about a doll for her at that age but it is by far her favorite toy. My almost 4-year old would take it if she could pry it out of her sisters arms, so I am sure an older child would like it too.

We also have a Tidoo. DD loves, loves, loves her. She goes everywhere with us. My only complaint is that she takes a long time to dry after a bath, but there's no way I could get away with keeping her off limits while she dries. DD just carries and cuddles a soggy dolly!

That is too cute! My girl loves to look at the Corolle dolls in our neighborhood toy store. They don't have a lot of dolls, and most of the ones for her age are the corolle ones. But she loves the one at our friend's house soooo much!

thank you for the sweet story!

How funny, I have a baby animal too! She growls so much that we call her BEAR.
