so no one told me, but cankles mixed with stary vision, tingly arms and swollen face and hands all put together isn't good.
and I have trace proteins.

The MW told me to take a long weekend off work and then see her again monday to check BP and my cankles. I really don't want this to get worse. I like my liver and central nervous system!

She wants me to go to half time at work but that cuts into my maternity leave with the baby. I just hope he comes soon, I feel silly just sitting here, but I need it. I think I've been pushing myself to hard. I hear all these stories about working right up to labour but thats just silly. Especially for your first baby.

I will suggest that if any of you ladies are sitting on the fence on if you should start cutting down hours at work, go for it. Its not worth it to be totally miserable for money.

I agree. I finished at 37w1d and am sooooo happy now. I won't be going back, so it doesn't shorten time with baby, but it does shorten the pay I will get while on leave.

I'm sorry you have signs pointing to pre-e. I hope the weekend is helpful. Water, feet up. Take some epsom baths if you can.

Hugs, Mama!
I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening. I'm glad you recognize the need to rest. I second the protein and water. Lots of eggs, check into the Brewer diet. I've heard that lots of people have had good luck with that.
I'll be thinking of you, and I hope your next appt shows an improvement.

Not in your DDC, but just wanting to send you good wishes. I had blood pressure/pre-eclampsia issues in both my pregnancies and both times wish I had "taken it easy" before I did. It's really hard to STOP going to work and focus on rest. I would think you should stop work all together! How many weeks are you? I also wanted to pass on the advice not to fear induction. I had the most awesome birth experience the first time with a hospital induction...and I think part of the positive experience was that we were not expecting to have to be induced that day, so I didn't have time to think and fear it or build up anxiety about it. This last time we messed around with blood pressure meds for awhile (what's your blood pressure, by the way? Did your MW draw any labs on you?) because I have pre-existing hypertension and I got quite anxious about the induction. My biggest regret is that we didn't induce me sooner since my pre-eclampsia worsened. This was less of a positive birth experience for me, but I accomplished goals of a vaginal birth without narcotics and baby and I are both healthy. I got pitocin and had my water broken and had to have magnesium sulfate (ugh) It was a lot more intense and I was basically on "bedrest" and couldn't use the tub like I did last time. So, best of luck to you and don't fear induction if it comes to that! Your body knows what to do!

How far along are you, Kriket? I hope the BP comes down for you and the pre-e symptoms go away. Chug that water and stay on your left side on that couch.

Good luck mama! We just paid off our last debt other than the house and I'm wayyyy not motivated now to go to work. I really want to not work now, I know my mw would agree with me. My DH thinks I will go crazy at home.
