My DS is 20 months and has been sick since yesterday. My DH was home sick earlier this week, so we figured they both had the same bug. Yesterday DS's symptoms were irratable, he nursed and dozed on & off all afternoon, then threw up once in the evening. He slept ok last night, but had a low fever (I didn't temp it, but it wasn't very high from what I felt on him). Today he is acting much better, but still a little grumpy.

This morning we noticed tiny bumps on his inner thighs and around his genitals. By this afternoon there are 2 or 3 that are on his legs. Look like tiny red pimples.

He was vaxed through 6 months but none since then. Could this be CP? What should I look for to see if he needs to go to the doctor? Just wait it out...?

We were on vacation last week at the beach. Otherwise he was only around kids on Monday for art class... maybe he was exposed then?

Thanks for your input s

I don't think cp causes vomiting. Also, the spots usually start on the torso. Oh, and the incubation is 10-21 days so he couldn't have it from exposure on Monday.

So, it doesn't sound like cp to me but I'm just guessing.

My dd's started on her arms and legs and really only got 2 spots very close together on her stomach. We're still in the process of cp, so she may get more. Just what has happened up to now.

thanks for the replies... i dont think its CP after all from what i've read, no new spots today and the ones from yesterday aren't yellowish/blistery or anything. Oh well, I was hoping to get the pox out of the way,

It might be hand, foot, and mouth disease. Rashes are common, it it often confused with chicken pox. Had my girls not just had chicken pox right before HFMD, I would of suspected it, other then the vomiting though.
