5 weeks...in 5 weeks I will be at term. 6 weeks from now...that's when my first daughter was born! my due date is in 8 weeks, and even that doesn't seem very far away! I'm having a freak-out moment today!! (yes, a moment...all day long!)

Anyone else have this sudden realization that baby is coming?!! Fast?!!

And there is so much I want to get done before the birth! We haven't planted the gardens yet, or built the deck, even though there is a huge pile of lumber in the yard...or finished the playhouse. Why oh why did we take on so many big backyard projects to be completed before the baby's arrival!??!!

And I still don't know who is taking care of dd during the birth! And there are piles and piles of chores piling up everywhere because dp has been working 12 hour days lately and I can't keep up!!!!!

Well thankfully, I have a bunch of food in the freezer and the nursery is set up and we have all the diapers, wipes, clothes, blankets etc. ready...we just need to wash them all. And buy a car seat.

But....AHHHHH!!!!!!!!! She's coming soon!!!

Please tell me about your freakout moment...or how you are keeping calm...or how it just hasn't hit you yet!

Argh!
You're in better shape than me!
I leave Moscow on May 16th and before then I need to:
get my OB notes translated into English and have final appointment to get 'fit to fly' letter for the airline
feed the freezer
empty junk room so it can be a nursery
buy dresser from Ikea
write a list of jobs for DH to do during my absence e.g assemble non-existant dresser
write a shopping list in Russian so that DH can eat when I'm not here to Mother him
arrange an early birthday party/farewell to his friends for DS. Some of them will have left for good when we get back incl my closest Mama friend here

and I haven't mentioned (today) that DH is in the US on business. Left Friday returns May 13th. Again

My EDD is in about 8 weeks. DS was "late" by week. We have nothing. Some hand-me-down clothing that will likely be too small (preemie and NB - my babies are well over 9lbs). The crib we had was recalled and I am fighting with the company to give me a refund (they gave me a voucher only good for BRU, I want the Arm's Reach Sleigh bed, which is not carried there and they will not order it in for me). I am having a mattress custom made, which takes 2-3 weeks to make about 3 days to ship. I am doing cloth diapers and wipes this time around and need to order those. I am stressed out. DH won't let me buy anything. He wants me to "wait and see" if I have a shower. Which means, I am having one... I hate the waiting game. I am a planner. I like to have things set up and ready.

I know the feeling, but for me I just finished my teaching job 1 week ago so I am home organizing preparing, and keeping up with my jewellery business. I thought "Oh I will have sooo much time I will be able to do this this AND this ! " haha. I am working my butt off but it seems like the house is still messy and the dishes still need to be washed. Luckily I am able to tackle some big projects like sewing new curtains and organizing and getting rid of old clothes. We still have a good chunk of time! It will be ok!

I'm with you!

I have to finish the school year (teach one or two more units), do end of year assessments, report cards, field trips (drag my heavy self around).

AND at home...we JUST finished the upstairs painting, so I have to turn the junk room into a guest room/future nursery (baby will be with us for a few months so doesn't need is/her own room right away). BUT we have no upstairs bathroom, nor kitchen. And my husband has only weekends, plus he wanted to redo the roof. My parents leave today, so any free time will be spent with DS, not working on the house. AHHHHH! I'm fearing it won't all be done, but what can I do?!

Oh yeah, freaking out here with you. I`m due July 16 which is 10.5 weeks away. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There`s still much to do and I`m working FT and just keeping up with the weekly and daily chores is too much. I still need to set up the nursery (everything is just DUMPED in there now). We need to refinance our mortgage and and and....

Honestly, I am thinking about getting a note from my doctor to either shift to PT hours or go off on leave soon. It`s just getting to be too much. I feel so tired and there`s too much to do. Been pulling my Super Woman days and now it`s starting to get to me.

So yes. I am freaking out too.

Gotta feed the freezer. That`s another thing that needs done.

I think I freaked out more with the other kids. I know kind of see how it is actually easier to get some stuff done after the baby comes because the baby will not be this big lump sticking out of your abdomen. I raced around trying to get so many things done before the other babies came, and I have not thought of doing on thing yet for this one.

I do need to start sewing a new stash of dipes before I get too big to bend over the machine.

It will be fine, and you will get plenty done after the baby comes. I have found that baby comes and life is the same except you have a squirmy little one you can put down instead of having to carry them around the whole time.

While this is true for many, for some it's not. I always find it takes me the 6 weeks to feel stronger after giving birth and the sleep deprivation that comes with nursing the newborn. We all have different physiologies, constitutions, etc. so some women may know that after baby comes they can't just putter around the way they used to.

Not a personally pointed comment, just a general one.

I was just thinking today that it is very possible that I could have these babies next month, like in 6 wks! I am excited, yet freaked out of my mind. I realized that there is a TON of stuff that I want to get done, tho I have done a lot already. It's getting close!

My due date is about 8 weeks away and I doubt I'll birth before that point. There's still PLENTY I could do, but really I'm ready to get this baby out already.
