My 13 month-old ds has been exposed (intentionally) to chicken pox that another MDC mama's 13 month-old dd has. He is nursing well still but gets a lot of solids too. He's a big healthy guy... 25 1/2 lbs, nurses/eats well, etc. I've read in various threads and websites (including http://www.*********/m/butler11.html ) about Vitamin A and C being important. Some also say EFA's. Others add herbs and homeopathy. I started him on a natural multivitamin which contains A and C but other than that haven't done anything. Does anyone have any advice?

Also, does anyone know if by nursing him (I had it as a child) , he will have a milder case? My dh had a terrible case of it as a child but he wasn't breastfed either and had/has excema which is thought to exacerbate it.

Thanks for any help.

BFing can help, especially since you have built up the antibodies to it. The multi is a good asset. Thumbs up on that. Try to ensure the most hydration possible. A good topical for the blisters is colloidal silver. You may want to get some at a local health food store or online. Here's a link http://www.doctorstrust.com/search.h...lloidal+silver
The other thing you may want to try is olive leaf extract and here's the link for that. http://www.doctorstrust.com/search.h...FSBSGgodfBhT8Q

Yes I read this -- see my OP above which references the same link. Great information which I've read twice. My questions in my OP are still questions to me though, especially in terms of, given the universe of things I *could* do, which ones have other mamas found effective or helpful. Also the breastfeeding question. Thanks!
