Okay, tell me how this works? I've got the cloth diapers, how can I convert it to a swim diaper? Just use the cover w/o an insert?

You can do that. I used a pocket diaper with one insert (mostly for the ride over in the car, just in case). Swim diapers are only to hold in the poop.

I've been using my size small bummis original covers, they work a heck of a lot better than the Kushies swim dipe my mom bought her and it's awesome because she's starting to grow out of the bummis original covers so they fit perfect for the pool and all the other babies in her swim class are Oh So Envious of her safari print bum with her red tank top

Oh, good, I was about to post a question about swim diapers. Someone gave me a bunch of disposable ones, and I thought I'd have to buy something special for a reuseable swim diaper.

Do they have to be a size smaller? We use mainly Proraps, and I've got some smaller ones that I've been meaning to ebay, but I think they'd be too small. Thoughts?

I use regular sized ones & just fold the waist up a bit if necessary.

i wouldn't think so, so long as you can get a tight fit.

They just have to be a good snug fit to keep the poopies (if any occur) inside. You might have to size down you might not.
Are far as sposie ones go, if you do end up using them you can throw them in the dryer and dry them out again and again (maybe up to 5 times). They last a lot longer that way.

Ah! Very interesting. I surely will use them, if I can reuse them. Thanks!

I teach a baby swim class and always try to sneak in a little word about using your cloth diaper covers as swim diapers As long as the cover has a snug fit all the way around the waist and legs you don't have to use a smaller size but you often can when there is no diaper in there. It may fit a little better. We used a bummis cotton wrap in medium long after ds was in larges and it fit great!
