I keep reading that immune compromised tots shouldn't get live vaccines. I understand not getting vaccines when on steroids or chemo. But what about just a weak immune system or someone with a mild compromise? I want to do the CP vax because its common in my area but not if it could backfire and cause the sickness or worse. My son def has a wonky immune system. He catches everything and we are home a lot. Ty! xo

I think it only matters if we're talking cancer, chemo, etc.

So simply having cancer is a reason not to immunize? Or being on chemo for cancer? I keep wondering what happens if a kid had cancer when vaccinated but didn't know. Thanks.

It's my understanding that chemo wipes out your immune system. I believe that people have to revaccinate after their kids get done with chemo. I bet the CDC has some info on their website.
