Sorry if this is TMI
: , but I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else ...

Twice in the past week, after having a very, very, very long and intense orgasms while in the *on-top* position, I have had cramping (like menstrual cramps) afterwards.

The first time, the discomfort (I won't call it pain per se because it wasn't sharp -- it was a mild to moderate dull cramping) lasted for the better part of 20 minutes, and I also felt lightheaded. I was kind of scary, actually. Eventually, after I calmed down a bit, it subsided.

This same thing happened last night, but I laid down right away so I'm not sure if I was lightheaded. I'm not sure why the Os were so long/intense (I'm not complaining about them, surely!
), but I've never had cramping like that after sex (BTW, there was no cramping during), so I can only assume maybe the nature of the long/intense O caused the cramping? Maybe it was that, combined with the possibility that my lady parts were particularly vulnerable because of the on-top position?

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything like this?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your responses, ladies!

Allgirls, I don't think I'm pregnant. We've been avoiding until DH is done his degree (next year ... I am SO anxious to TTC, though). But I guess there's always a slight chance. That's an interesting correlation to ponder, though. Congrats on your new little one!

I did a little research and found that some cramping isn't abnormal after orgasm, as your uterine muscles do contract with orgasm. And since this happened after two particularly strong Os (again, not complaining!), I guess there'd be even more of a chance. It was just weird.

I have my annual exam in about two months, so I will make note of this and talk to my doc about it.

Thanks for your input!

they are just toning (braxton-hicks) contractions getting you ready for the real thing. i get them every now and then but have found they are the worst right after sex. i talked to my midwife and she says they are normal, but feeling light-headed isn't normal. she said when i feel dizzy during them or the cramps are *really* bad, then make note of what i've been eating and drinking.

as for getting them when not pg...i have no idea
