I haven't even told my midwife yet. At this point there's not much she could do (I'm, at best, 8 weeks...so I'm guessing).

Last night I had an odd feeling...very slight in my body, but it gave me a weird feeling emotionally. But I put it aside and fell asleep. When I woke up I had some slightest spotting, I could barely see a pink tint when I wiped. I've had cramping since I woke up...calmer (more like just feeling sore) to stronger, obvious cramps (but nowhere near doubling over from pain or anything).

Is it worth calling my midwife? As in...can she do anything to help the baby? I can only assume if it's the worst case scenario, it's already done and nothing can be helped.

i'd call, even though there's nothing that can be done. sometimes knowing is best - i'm glad i knew the miscarriage was coming, and it didn't just pop up on me.

best wishes

There is nothing that a midwife can do. . other than help you find out if you are in fact miscarrying (check HCG levels, possibly send you for an ultrasound). So you can either call and find out, or you can wait and see.

If the bleeding gets very heavy and doesn't stop (hemmoraging) then get to the ER ASAP.

Hugs to you. . hope everything works out.

there is nothing they can do if it is a m/s, but if you need to talk through it then by all means call.

and REST! it may not be a miscarriage. many of us cramp and bleed around that time and go on to have fine pregnancies. put your feet up, rest and relax for a few days. (I know easier said than done). if you're just having an "unstable" moment it could be that all you need is some rest and relaxation to give your body time to right things.

Not a lot can be done at this stage but it's worth a call anyway. I'd want to know what's up too. Also I've had an ectopic that took weeks to catch (thought it was a miscarriage at first) so now I'm super proactive about anything odd that comes up in early pregnancy.

I just started bleeding. I can't bring myself to call my midwife, the woman who helped me bring my healthy living son into the world. Unless this really is nothing (but my heart tells me otherwise) I'm going to start posting in the loss forum so you guys can stay happy here.

Take some cramp bark...that will help the cramps.

I started bleeding at 13 weeks and it was a subchorionic hematoma. The baby is fine. Bleeding doesn't always mean m/c.
