I'm not sure what the deal is-this is my first pregnancy, so I have a hard time defining normal but in the last couple of days i've been really crampy. I'm not sure why they decided on a day to come and then hang around for awhile. I've been doing some online reading and apparently these are the weeks that the baby is in a major growth spurt so the ligaments are stretching/Hicks contractions/etc.
I have some that feel like I've just cramped up after waiting way too long to pee, I have some on the right side, some way low, i had some menstrual cramp feeling ones when I was going to the bathroom, sideaches... (I feel like Forrest Gump describing the types of rain) I guess as long as there's no blood and they go away pretty quickly, they're fine? I wish they would have waited til after I got back from vacation. Stupid cramps.

I hear ya. I had some cramps a few weeks ago then they subsided and now the past two days have been feeling them again. (Oh and lots of round ligament pain in between the crampy times). Its hard not to worry, but I think its all normal. . .everything is growing and shifting. Today I wondered if I felt a BH type cramp for the first time.
Try upping your water intake. It could be an irritated uterus as my midwife called it - and when we're dehydrated it makes it more noticeable. Not usually anything to worry about in my experience - and when I increase my fluids I notice it eases and is usually gone in a couple of days. The crampiness is my first sign that I'm not drinking enough.

Add that to the growing that you mentioned and it makes for some uncomfy moments!

Good idea. . .I try to drink enough, but I did notice yesterday that when I was feeling crampy my pee seemed darker/more concentrated than usual (sorry TMI). So perhaps I was just dehydrated.

Yes, I hate the crampy feelings, but I have been having them too. Hard to tell what is digestive, what is stretching and what is a contraction these days. I remember this being the easy part of pregnancy with my daughter. I guess 5 years makes you forget the yucky parts.

last night i had some weird cramping. it wasn't like period cramps...and i have never felt 'cervical pain' or even know what that would feel like, but it felt like it could be that. if thast possible. it was a strange burning/aching inside. not all around and radiant like period cramps are.

not round ligament pain.

anyone else had this? just in the middle of the night. strange!

i drink tons of water...so i know im not dehydrated.
I have been feeling more crampy and achy in the abdominal region this week. I also feel like my bump is stretching my skin so tight. I think it might be a growth spurt b/c I think I gained four pounds in the last day!
I've not had anything that felt like burning per se, though I'm really bad at picking descriptors for how things feel. The most common for mee seem to feel similiar to what I would associate with exercising cramps.

I did have a cramp wake me up in the night, that one weirded me out as its the one that I associate with cramping when my bladder gets really full during the night and my lower abdomen will cramp up when I go to the bathroom and I have to give it like 30seconds to calm down again. Because of the association with post urination, it really confused me in a half awake daze.

I wonder if potassium helps as well? I should eat a banana or have a smoothie or something.

I think you're onto something with water. I'm definitily not drinking as much as I was earlier in the pregnancy, though earlier I was always thinking water sounded good, so it was easier to remember.

I'm the same with the water....before I sipped to help the nausea, now I forget.
Someone mentioned their pee being strong - same here...*sigh* you'd think I'd know better by now! LOL

As for the potassium - not a bad habit to get into because down the road those darn Charlie Horses start in the legs (at least for me they do) and the lack of water and lack of potassium make a BAD combo - but not too many - because bananas can cause you to have some problems with the OTHER plumbing system! I totally have that achy cervix feeling. Actually, I think I'm going to start a separate post to see if anyone else has it. Feeling a little worried
