I've been voracious today. Everything sounds really good to my tiny stomach!

I'm sitting here thinking of all the foods I want to eat right now.

I'm boiling eggs because I just got a hankering for Deviled Eggs.

I'm craving the spinach and bacon quiche that I wrote down for my weekly menu today.
I want a tuna fish sandwich and a turkey one too, please.
Popcorn with loads of butter sounds divine.
Oh, and peanut butter and jelly with a glass of milk sounds good.

Do you think I'm craving protein much?!

One of the things I had fun with in my last pg was the weird cravings I had, but this time around I haven't really had many. There have been a couple of times where I thought something sounded yummy but none of those moments where I got in the car and drove somewhere to get something--like a vanilla milkshake. I actually kind of enjoyed it so this time around food has been less fun. I just eat because I need to--which hasn't stopped me from putting on the pounds like I AM having milkshakes! Enjoy it! I do think cravings are your body telling you what it needs. Protein, yes!

It's weird because I have been craving exactly the same things I did in my first pregnancy...which was 5 years ago!

-tostadas (not tacos, not burritos...must be crunchy and flat!)
-fruit (first grapes, then blood oranges, now strawberries)
-coconut anything
-salad
-peanut butter
-mushroom stroganoff (weird and inexplicable)

All I want are nectarines. Bushels and bushels of juicy, sweet nectarines. They are soooo expensive right now though! Hopefully in another month they will be affordable enough to gorge myself on! :

Oh, and I want sushi, but, I always want sushi.

Hmmm, I may have to make a quiche, now. I especially want to have the handy leftovers! (I covet leftovers from anything I make for dinner, because I still don't tolerate "traditional" breakfast foods very well so I eat brown rice & stir fry for breakfast, or miso soup and noodles.)

When I read your list, I thought you must be in the same 20-24 week (or so) growth spurt I am in. Rrrrow! Follow your bliss, you have to support that big spurt. (In my twin pregnancy book, it shows the head circumference practically doubling during this period! There's not a similarly dramatic increase in head size between 16 and 40 weeks, so this one seems pretty significant.)

My list is less "cravings" and more just things that are on the "okay" versus the "not-okay" category.

I have eaten lots of miso, lots of seaweed, bok choy (never bought it before, actually--I'm more of a kale/collard greens person, typically), udon noodles, brown rice, broccoli and MORE broccoli, grapefruit (at least one a day), 2 or more apples EVERY day, cheddar cheese slices, quesadillas with cheese & avocado and sometimes chicken, stir fried vegetables with sauteed chicken. I recently added ice cream, and that was a big step. (Most dairy, as well as baked goods, leaves me with an aftertaste and generally yucky feeling....so no pancakes, bread, yogurt, smoothies, milk, French toast, etc. this time.) I haven't wanted any beef, but since passing 20 weeks, I was able to eat beef 3 times so I'm hoping that can be added to my "reliable" list, now.

Last night I had salmon (glazed with blackstrap molasses and spices like cumin & cinnamon) and wilted bok choy sauteed in sesame oil with garlic & ginger. It was divine! (And I have leftovers!!!)

thoughts of chinese food were keeping me up early this morning. i finally had to go eat some cereal, hoping something in my stomach would quiet my mind. it kind of worked, but i'm still dying for some crispy green beans from my favorite chinese restaurant in Raleigh NC (used to live there) and some ma po tofu from pf chang's (at least they're everywhere). now i'm hungry all over again!

I have totally been craving salad...weird for me. Just a nice baby greens salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and vinegar and oil... I can't seem to get enough of it! Just got back from the store with another box of salad greens, too!

Megan, I am having the exact same kinds of cravings. I had some steak the other night too and all I want now is that exact steak (sliced filet mignon on bread). I can not be bothered with red meat usually!

Do you know if you are having a boy or girl? I always craved fruit and sweets with DD so i'm thinking with all the protein cravings this must be a boy.
