I can't really answer your question, because I never make mine in the crockpot. I soak mine overnight with approx 1:2 oats to water plus a splash of whey. Swirl to mix, leave out overnight. In the morning I cook it on low gas flame for about 7 mins, stirring a few times.

If I were to use the crockpot, I guess I would soak the same way (in the pot) and then turn it on high when I got up in the morning. (Hmmm, maybe I should try this.) I suppose cooking time and whether you used high or low setting would depend a lot on how much you make and how soon you need to eat after waking.

We eat ours with different toppings--fresh or dried fruit, spirulina, molasses/maple/honey, always butter, sometimes nuts or seeds.

Hope my non-answer answer helps. If I do the crockpot thing I'll let you know what I end up with.

4:1 in crockpot with water and whey, on low. to help with the phytates, it's beneficial to add 1/10 of freshly ground wheat since it's rich in phytase.

then add whatever you want into your bowl in the morning and enjoy!

it is mushier than otherwise but hey, it's done in the morning.

nak

i soak mine during the day with whey and water, then cook overnight--i do a 1:3 oats/water ratio, but i like my oatmeal really thick.

i do this with millet, too, which is a good gf option.
