I bought some used diapers and they are in fantastic condition, are extremely absorbent and a great fit -- BUT they are a bit crunchy, for lack of a better word. Not really stiff, not worn, just crunchy. I can't think of any other way to describe it. My DS is wearing them just fine and they aren't really abrasive on his skin but they don't seem soft and fluffy like all my other dipes. So I am thinking this is some sort of build up from the previous owner. What can I do? I have read about DA and also Calgon and something about Basic H but not sure which is best for what. Can anyone make a recommendation? Also, I have Basic H and can go to the store for Calgon - where do you find DA? Is it available at your typical grocery store too? Oh, and in case it matters, they are a knit terry fabric.

Thanks so much!!

DA is downy advanced.

I use DA Kasey! LOVE IT.

If you wanted to try it before you buy it (esp to check out the smell or whatever) you are more than welcome to drop by for a free "glug" to take home

I love it and it reallllly softens up my diapers. I had some Cloud 9 Softies that I called my Cloud 9 Hardies until I got DA. Suddenly they were soft and sweet again

Sorry, your title line sounds like a name-brand for cereal or for crackers..."New and improved Crunchy Diapers!! Look for them in your Grocer's Aisle!" Sorry- its early yet, and I have not had my cafffeine. :LOL I would try a bit of the DA, although I am hesitant about trying ANY kinds of enhancers or softeners. But, I gotta say the other day, a hemp doubler went in the wash and got softened with the towels. Wow was that hemp softttttttt!! Have to strip it now, but it was truly Snuggle-softtttt!!!

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I got DA this morning and just tried it - it definitely helped but some of the dipes are still crunchy. Maybe it will take a couple of rounds of this. I may still try to strip them again and see if that helps... About DA, though, how much do you use and is it ok to use on sherpa? Just curious!!

Thanks!
