We'd like to enter Cleo in 2-day/3-hour preschool/Mother's morning out when she turns 2 this fall, but i'm not having any luck finding ones to check out. They're all either religious or super-pricey Montessori. Does anyone know of a crunchy, or at least artsy preschool near Roswell, Marietta or Woodstock? I'm interested in checking out Waldorf or Reggio Emilia styles, but I can't find any closer than Decatur, which wouldn't work.

Ideas? Thanks!

http://www.uuman.org/ You could ask the religious education director to tell you what preschools the children attend to see if there's anything you missed in your search.

If you look around on Craigslist and network with similar style mommas you may find things like this http://atlanta.craigslist.org/kid/499822944.html (but hopefully in your area) an in-home preschool type situation.

It's not really close to you but The Children's Garden in Grant Park sounds like what you are looking for. I only have experience with the older class but I know they have classes for the little ones.

Thanks, y'all! That's what i'm finding-- everything that appeals is too far away to make it reasonable. Since it's just a 2-year-old class, not as advanced as kindergarten or elementary school, driving too far to get there negates the purpose. I'm looking for somewhere she can enjoy herself and socialize while I paint at home, so it's got to be closer. I am so surprised that Roswell doesn't offer anything more interesting.

I have limited experience with church MMO's, but the one I visited did not have any religious content at all. It was just, we're going to play in the playroom until XX time, then we have snack (no prayer), then we go outside and play, then we come back in and get ready for pickup.
