Hoping someone here will have some ideas for me!
The last couple of months that I was on the bcp, I was having really intense early-pregnancy symptoms in the last 2 weeks of each cycle, including nausea, dizziness, extreme fatigue, breast soreness and enlargement, etc. Doc thought it was because my metabolism was revving up after an illness. Stopped bcp at end of Nov, and had withdrawal bleed early Dec. Since then, still having these symptoms, but my cycles are now around 47 days long. I have only bled twice since the Dec withdrawal bleed, and the symptoms are so bothersome, with cramping, nausea, tenderness, etc, for weeks before I do. I'm at approx cycle day 26 today, and feeling awful, but surprisingly not like af is impending. I keep testing and getting bfn. I've had at least some definite signs of ovulation, including one episode of ov bleeding for a few days in my first cycle, although I did not get af for weeks after that, which is confusing. It is almost like my body is trying to O multiple times in a cycle. I initially went on bcp when postpartum with #3, because of the ovulation bleeding and pain which was bad enough to be like getting af twice in 5 weeks (my previous normal cycle length was 35 days).
My primary care doc doesn't know what to do. I have a Gyn consult for something else at the end of May, with a doc I've never met. I don't know who to go to for help, what to ask for, what to look out for.
I've resisted posting, because I don't like to make these issues public, but I'm desperate. I am not charting, because I was waiting for af, but I have insomnia, so I'm not sure how reliable temping would be, anyway.
We are ttc.
Can anyone suggest ways to deal with this, or who to go to for help? I was hoping to use midwifery care if I did get pg, but I don't know if the midwives in Ontario will see a woman who isn't pg.

I hope that things do get better for you.

I am also in Ontario and I'm not sure if they will see you.

I actually spoke to one of my previous midwives about a month ago on the phone, so that may be an option for you. Best thing to do is call and ask

Hi. I'm sorry you are having a difficult time with your cycles. To me, it sounds like you may want to have your hormones checked out. For me, I too experience early pregnancy symptoms in the 2 weeks before AF. I learned that I am low in progesterone. If you are interested, I've found some great info in these forums (esp in the fertility forum) on herbs that are helpful in regulating the cycles (Vitex, FertailAid, etc). I HTH, keep us posted on how you are doing.

Thanks for the suggestions, isras1 and singinangel!
I finally feel like af is imminent, and if I do finally get a visit, I can schedule an appt with my gp, and ask her about the suggestions you made re hormone testing and seeing the midwives. I know that while on the bcp, I did have my hormones checked because there was some concern that I might be entering early perimenopause, but my fsh was very low, which she attributed to the bcp. I guess it is worth checking out again, now that I'm done with the artificial hormones.
Of course, I may be stuck with the 48 day cycles, although I don't think I'd mind that so much if I didn't feel so awful for so much of the time!
