Things seem to be calming down, so I'm going to get rest for a while.

Shhhhhhh! Be vewwy vewwy qwiet!
Wow- that is pretty amazing timing! Maybe if someone gave you a foot rub or massage or something it got things moving along!

I was reading Sears Pregnancy Book last night and Martha calls the 9th month the labor MONTH. Martha is right on in my case. Again I had contractions (and back pain this time too) through the wee hours and woke up thinking "this is the day" and again they seem to have died down already now that I'm up and about. The other day they lasted 4-5 hours without picking up in intensity- I mean that is long enough to have been an entire false labor! Ugh. None of this happened at all in my first pregnancy, so this is really a different experience.

Oh- I lost my mucous plug and I have bloody show! Those ctx were doing something after all!

I seem to be gaining about 2lbs a week now
Since I only hit the + side of things last month its ok with me. I think I'm +8 or so now

It'll be interesting to see how big this baby is. With #1 I gained 60(or more) and he was 8lbs 4ozs, with #2 I struggled to gain the 20 required by the bc and she was "at least 9lbs at birth" (she wasn't weighed for hours and had "emptied" quite a bit by then
) with the twins I think it was 28lbs and they were 4lbs7ozs and 5lbs 6oz. I told me hb mw that it seems like the less weight I gain the bigger the baby
I feel small this time though. DH likes to point out that I probably feel small because last time I had 2 babies

Both he and mw think that this baby will be smaller than dd though. MW was thinking 7-7.5lbs but last visit she said she's not so sure now
I have no idea. I'd like 10lbs but I don't think I'm going to get that. I'll be happy with at least 7.5lbs

Good luck Benny Pai!

I feel good today! 2 days in a row. I was kinda a doubting Thomas, but I started accupuncture this week and I'm really feeling good. More energy, more confidence, more activity down below. Maybe it would have happened anyways, but that's fine with me...

DH is starting to annoy me now with comments about "I would of thought for sure today would of been the day", "baby needs to come this week", etc.... Yeah, you can't plan these things.
This is our 3rd but the others came at 38 weeks, this one was not interested in repeating that. Apparently he did some projects at work but then just postponed others. Now he wants to start them but doesn't want to get in the middle of something and then have baby come, but he can't postpone for several more weeks. I'm feeling like too bad! I've always told him with every child that there is basically a 5 or so week period in which baby could come. It's his problem that he didn't plan according, but now he is trying to make it my problem. I don't have a crystal ball to tell him when baby is coming. I'm 39.5 weeks now, I could go another 2+ weeks. I'm fine with going ever how long it takes, and the MW that might attend the birth doesn't care, we'll just change dates if need be.
If I do go another 2 weeks though, I just might not be speaking to DH or my mother at all by that point. And yes, she is still calling asking "how I'm feeling", though I refuse to talk more then once day and change the subject or say I have to go as soon as she asks.

ooh Peony I hear you! My mom has come out to visit to help, taking time off work, and every morning she is like, are you having the baby today? I even heard her asking my son this morning before I got out of bed. Funny thing is I HAVE been having intermittent painful contractions (nothing like "labor") but don't want to say anything b/c we ALL KNOW it could still be a few weeks. Luckily my DH is relaxed about it. Unluckily though, he's been laid off until mid-June so its hardly a good thing to be in the opposite situation (a partner w/out paid work is pretty stressful too).
maybe i need to just go about living like I'm not pregnant. I have a meeting to go to 30 minutes away. I was going to skip it if pregnant, but maybe I need to go and let Murphy's Law try to work! The meetings on Sunday, so a day after my due date. I was so certain I'd be bringing fresh baby to that meeting too...

I yelled at DH and broke down in tears last night. He doesn't want to have sex and neither do I but I just want the sprem to try to help ripen things up. I told him he wasn't doing his job. He didn't pick up 5 things off the floor so I went off on him majorly for that too...yea I think I might have some pregnancy hormones going on...

Good luck Benny Pai!

It's crazy to see so litle of posts here when just about a week or so ago it was almost 2 pages full by this time.

Today I am going to go shopping. Not because we need groceries, but because it'll get me walking and walking.

nancy - IS there any action going on?!

heather - Yes!!! See ya later mucus plug!!! Thats VERY exciting. ANd that dr sears book seems to be dead on. Jeez!!!

Peony - Im getting the "youre still pregnant?!" from everyone to which I respond now "Wait, IM PREGNANT?! I hadn't noticed!" Is your DH taking a lot of time off for this baby? Is there a reason he cant start a project and put it aside for a week? Seems like in all this waiting time, instead of harassing you, he could have been busting his butt getting things done!

Azreial - I just started gaining a while back too. My last baby I gained 60 lbs, and was 9 at birth. My hospital docs are scared for me to give birth to another "abnormally large" baby again, but Im hoping for a 10 lb-er too!!! And you only gained 28 lbs with twins?! You are just literally all baby arent you?!

Xerxella - Yay!!
:
: For good days!!!!! Im glad the acupuncture is working, seems like lots of ladies on here have had relief with it too!!!

emma - Im with you on the contractions, I get them when Im shopping ro doing stuff and although they are rough, they are not rough enough to tell ANYONE (except dh). lol Can you imagine if we told our friends and family when we had them?! The phones would ring off the hook!!!!!

Melissa - Some things Ive been putting off are getting done now because Id rather just pretend Im not preg than sit at home and THINK about how preg I really am!!! And about the hormones and emotions, I went crazy on DH last week in a way I haven't done in a while and at first he joked "wow, hormones" but then after getting the evil eye and a promise to break his bones if he ever talked about my hormones again, he realized the error of his ways!!! I can literally FEEL my hormones changing, I hurt everywhere, sleep deprived, etc, these darn men SHOULD be going above and beyond to help us and get these babies out!!!!

I got NO sleep last night, just achy and blah. But today is NICE so Im going to ride my bike!!!
A couple of DHs friends have fallen on hard times lately and have been spending nights at our house, showering here and storing stuff in our storage unit. (single guys, not couples or anything) Well, a friend spent the night last night and Im thinking that this is enough for now. Whats going to happen when I go into labor? Ill have to stay clothed, stay sane, etc. then we go to the hospital and will they be calling DH to take showers and get sweatshirts? Will we have to kick them out or leave them in the house when we go? These are really great friends of ours and I WANT to help them out, I just think that maybe NOW is not the best time!!

As far as the baby goes, she is getting LOW and leaning on my pelvis, yesterday she must have been leaning more to one side because I had a limp for an hour or so!!! Crazy baby!!!

hmmm.... well....

Nothing significant.

Pelvic soreness, itty bits of mucous every day, did a self-check and can actually reach my cervix now (sortof), baby head is engaging (can feel it pretty low down when I check, light and random contractions/tightening that I must be getting used to because I don't feel them as much any more, aaaaaand... that's it.

I think the progress is slow and steady... and silent. Which means, to me, all of a sudden it's going to explode. Right now would be nice.

Peanut is happily posterior and wiggling around as per usual. I'm sure it will turn later on.

That's me... nothing earth-shattering.

I had some interesting feelings going on yesterday and last night. They were sharp pains in my, well area. It felt like maybe my cervix stretching, but can that happen without a contraction? Anyway, took a walk today to try to get some stuff moving and it just made me dog tired. A friend of mine had her baby last night. Which is good, but makes me wonder when it's going to happen for me. Also my other friend who is watching my boys for me while I do acupuncture was at the birth and she is tired today so I'm not sure if I need to cancel my acupuncture appt. or not. Also feeling like I can't go into labor now in case there is noone to watch the kiddos. Hmmmmm, the silly things I am worrying about.
Gotta love those pregnancy hormones.

Birth vibes to all.

I was thinking about picking up some castor oil today. I had to pick the twins up from daycare because they have diarrhea

So... what does your mucous plug look like? I lost part of mine super early with ds1 and it was typical 'bloody show' - mucousy brown globby stuff. Yesterday and today, though, I've noticed this super thick globby WHITE stuff - thicker and globbier than usual discharge. Could it be my mucous plug?

Dh's cousin comes in today and my mom comes on Sunday, so we're even more ready than before.

Lindsay...
. I've had two good nights of sleep in a row and it makes SUCH a big difference. I hope you get some good zzz's tonight.

And on the pg hormones front...
. It's hard enough dealing with this waiting game, let alone everyone else's interventions.

Mine is whitish/yellowish snot -- something that I have not had to date. Very sticky. It has to be part of my plug as I begin to dilate. There's just noplace else for it to come from! Now "show" for me, yet. I assume that will happen with more significant dilation.

Mine was like the first part you described, bloody blobby yuck- I hope that was my mucus plug anyway! I never saw it the first time around so have no idea what it may have looked like.

I've officially got a low rider- I thought I had dropped before but man now its ridiculously low!

I read the posts yesterday and was kinda in the boat with everyone for an icky day. Today though is worse, MW appt showed NO changes. nothing. Basically induction scheduled for May 4.

So, I guess I get to sit around and be hormonal and emotional and hugely prego (not to mention like PP said - everyone asking "you're still pregnant?!") only to be plopped into a hospital at the end - where I didn't want to be. This was supposed to be my first and awesome homebirth. Now I feel like lying in bed for the next 2 weeks and ignoring the world. Thank God for my 2 boys, they are so full of energy and keep giving me reasons to not go lie in bed! LOL.

This is a bit of nice to share tho: In the health food store yesterday NO ONE commented about my belly or asked questions about the pregnancy. It was so nice. I wish I could live the next 2 weeks with no one else making comments, my life would be improved.

So, here is a list why we can keep our chins up and not get too discouraged:

We are strong!
-carry, feed, nurture our little ones, and worry our hearts out about them, of course there will be some strong feelings.

We are smart!
-able to provide loving, natural and supportive care for our lo's before and after they are born.

We are together!
-with all the good mamas here, usually you can find someone to relate to or help pick you up.

Thanks for posting the encouraging words!

I bet that was annoying, my mom pesters DD1 as well since DD2 calls her half a dozen times a day. I'm sorry that your DH is still out of work.

It's all big installation projects, not the type that you can stop half way through. His time off gets getting shorter and shorter.
It was 2 weeks, then the other day he was saying 1.5 weeks, today I overheard him saying a week to someone. It's so going to be longer then a week, he might not realize that yet though.

My first two mucous plugs with the girls were like globs of gelatin, this one was like slimy snot that just kept coming. Sorry if TMI.

I have a new pet peeve. The "how are you doing" question with the look of pity in their eyes.

Hi Ladies! Tonight is the big night for me! I'm sure most of the action will occur tomorrow, but we get to start tonight! I was having some contractions this moring (or afternoon) when we went out for breakfast. They were hurting mostly in my lower back and my belly was getting hard. I was so hoping that afterall I'd go into labor on my own, but they seem to have slowed way down now. I'll take it as a good sign though as my body is at least getting ready on its own
.

I wonder the same thing about the mucus plug. I have been having much thicker white stuff, but I've had a lot of discharge this whole time so its hard to tell.

Are there any other first time mom's still here - Nancy right? I am not sure if there are any more, but maybe some of you can help me feel better regardless. This is one of the reasons I really hoped I'd go early! Now that I know the big day is coming, I am feeling so nervous and scared to be a mom! I have been ready to have kids for awhile and have always been good with kids, but now that I know it's coming I am getting scared!!! I'm guessing this is normal, right? I'm all of a sudden finding myself thinking how different our lives are going to be, etc. when before I just felt excitement. I am definitley still very excited, but am just battling some nerves too. Deep breath.

ETA: I know that life changes after children and I really do feel that it is going to change for the better, but I can't help but feel nervous.
