My DS was sensitive to dairy & soy proteins so I was on a dairy & soy-free diet until he (seemed) to outgrow it last January at 16 months. I started eating dairy again - in fact, craved it during this last pregnancy just like I did during my pregnancy with DS. I had never noticed dairy causing me any problems but a little over 2 months ago I started having mucousy, bloody poops. As an infant DS had the same symptoms whenever I had dairy.

Could this be caused by a dairy sensitivity? I have never noticed it before - can food sensitivities develop in an adult?

I am going back on a dairy-free/soy-free diet because 3 week old DD is also showing signs of dairy & soy sensitivities. They run in my side of the family.

Food sensitivities and allergies can DEFINITELY develop in an adult. Hope you start feeling better soon!

(Btw, probiotics are always good after any kind of gut trauma. As your gut heals from the irritation caused by your allergy/intolerance, you want all the good bacteria to take up residence on those newly healed spaces before yeast/other bad stuff sneaks in there. Read labels and make sure they are dairy and soy free.)
