I was checking out some info on placenta previa and I noticed that this site says "the transvaginal transducer has the potential to cause trauma to the placenta".

Could this cause the placenta to fail? Could this mean that in pregnancies where there are lots of U/S it actually is dangerous to go to 42 weeks?

Previa is not very common, and it's very uncommon for previa to be present very early on in pregnancy when most tv u/s are performed.

I don't think that's what they're getting at. What they're saying is that they could bump it and cause bleeding or a miscarriage.
