i hope we have hit on the solution!! only two nights thus far, but two good nights! i had dh take the crib apart & we put the crib mattress on the floor in the room where all 3 girls are sleeping as i write. our issue was that talia needs to nurse to sleep, but now that she's crawling & pulling up, she wasn't safe on our bed anymore in the interim between when she goes down & when i go to bed. so i nurse her down on her mattress. both nights i've had to go back once when she wakes (same as before she was crawling, when i'd nurse her down in our bed).

last night she slept on her mattress on the floor from about 9:50 til 2:40am! i got to do some stuff i wanted, then read in bed & curled up around my body pillow & slept SO well! i brought her in w/us when she cried at 2:40 & she stayed w/us til we got up...if this works this will be my ultimate solution!!!

That's awesome news!

I've always wondered why more people don't put their crib mattresses on the floor. I've never had a crib, but I would be so worried as I've heard many crib mothers tell of babies learning how to climb out of them and falling out!
