Had OB appt today.
Was completely prepared to have him chew my rather large hiney out when I got there because I didnt get to have the A1C test done that I was willing to do instead of the orange drink 1 hour glucose test. The lab refused to let me take the A1C and insisted I HAD to take the 1 hour test. Even though my dr ordered the A1C...

He was wonderful! I explained what happened. He made a few gripes and complaints about the lab company and how THEY ARE TO DO THE TESTS HE ORDERS not what they feel I should have..lol (very funny to see him angry) I tol dhim that my understanding was that even in worst case scenerero and I was GD..they would just recommend the very same diet I am already living on. He offered the A1C should I like to have it done to make sure I hadnt been dealing with any possibilities of GD in the last 3 months. I agreed and he had the blood drawn in his office. Wish he had offered that to begin with! :)

He announced that I am now 29 weeks along and wondered if we were ready to "set a date" for our planned C. Its set! January 25, 2010. Oh I am so excited! Ive never known this early when I would have a baby. This is too cool! I asked if he would have problems should I want to leave the day the surgery is done. He said he had no problem as long as I kept track of my temps and output. I laughed and said with my last I wanted to leave the very day of surgery and that OB felt I would need pain meds and monitoring so I stayed in hosp for just shy of 24 hours and walked out with no pain meds. I told this OB that I may wanna stay for a month LOL but I want the option should I feel ready to leave.

All in all... I'd say this was a WONDERFUL day! I am so excited! We should see our new lil girl (supposidly) just shy of 2 1/2 months.

Thanks so much ladies!
I just couldnt keep it to myself! We've decided not to tell anyone that a date has been set. Y'all are the only ones who know.

It really is odd knowing ahead of time like this. Thanks again for showing enthusiasm for me! I do appreciate it! Until now I've felt pretty alone going through this pregnancy. I havent had many IRL people to talk with about this pregnancy. Thanks for being here ladies!

Congratulations! Although I would love for baby to come a little early for selfish reasons (start of semester, hubby leaving) I am really hoping she will be a little Aquarian babe like me and DH. The waiting and wondering when is pretty stressful though, it must be nice to know exactly when its going to be.

Your baby is coming the way s/he needs to be born and that is a miracle all by itself. I'm glad you're in touch with your body so that you know the decision needed to be made.

It's so exciting to have a date set, too! Yay! It's nice to have something to plan around.
