Posted this over at 'Life with a Babe', and thought you guys might have some thoughts...

When does a babe start to get this right?! My DS was 4 weeks yesterday, and I think his days and nights are still mixed up. He sleeps almost all day waking every hour to three hours just long enough to eat, then off he is again to dreamland. I co-sleep with him, so around midnight, I feel him start to move, and he squeaks, kicks and thrashes all night long. I'm concerned cuz, #1 - I need some sleep, if I have any chance to keep up with 2.5 yr old DD during the day and #2 - I feel as though DS is getting no stimulation . I cuddle with him and kiss him throughout the night, but I'm certainly not turning on the light to show him the sights. Gotta love mother-guilt. Is there anything I should do?

My 6.5 week old is still working this out. He wants to sleep all afternoon and wake up for playtime at 8, which is when we go to bed. The really bad part is, dh has to go to work at 4 am, so if baby doesn't sleep, dh is a regular zombie. The whites of his eyes have been red for a couple of weeks now, because of so little sleep.

The only thing I know to do is to gently ease him into it. I try to let him sleep alot during the morning so he can be wakeful in the afternoon, and if he's sleeping too much, I change his diaper, take his clothes off (he loves that :LOL ) play with him, take him outside, etc
