Does anyone have some advice on how to avoid bedtime trauma with the impending time change?? I'm dreading Andrew's 7:30 bed time turning into 8:30, I go to be at around 9:00 and I'll get absolutely no free time to myself!!

They get used to the switch because their wake up and nap times change. It usually takes us a couple of weeks. It is hard though when the sun comes up earlier they seem to not want to sleep very long.

Room darkening shades

Seriously, it's the only way we got through it last year! And ITA with the pp who said that they do tend to get up earlier. For dd, this was havoc because she was going to bed late and getting up early, and she was an absolute bear all day long! When we got the shades (and I mean the heavy duty ones from like Home Depot or something, not the flimsy ones from Wal-Mart... it's well worth the extra $$) she finally started going to bed before the sun, and we had some peace again.

This year, I've already got the shades going, though I might have to velcro them to the wall or something so that no light peeks in at bedtime. I go to bed pretty early myself, so I feel you on the no time to yourself dilemma!

Luckily, my dd is pretty adaptable to going to bed a bit earlier or later. I don't think it should be much of a problem.
This has been rough for us too. Dd is not falling asleep till 9:30 now and waking at 5:30 instead of 7
