Well, we've had our first co-sleeping issue. Dh and I get up about an hour earlier than DD during the week. We leave the bedroom door open so we can hear her if she gets up and needs us. She also has pillows around her so that in the event she gets up, she can't get to the edge. On Thursday, she apparently woke up and decided to be quiet about it. I didn't hear her till she screamed b/c she fell off the edge of the bed. We have a high bed. Luckily she was not hurt, she was playing with her toys 15 mins later. But the bed is going on the floor tomorrow.

How and when do or can you teach them to back off the bed? I read somewhere to start when they are using furnature to walk, but can it be done earlier? She's just standing up on it right now.

DD is 10.5 months old and is getting really good about turning around to get off the bed and sofa. I've been consistant with her since she became mobile (crawling, sitting up). Everytime she gets to the edge I just say "remember to go backwards" and I turn her around.
