DD has suffered from ear infections for almost 3 years and I just don't know what to do anymore....HELP please!

My dd, who was breast feed, has had ear infections since she was a very young infant. I'm thinking she was around a month old when she got her first ear infection. She probably had between 10-15 by the time she was 10 months old. And all this time I was trusting the doctors to help her and all they did was write script after script for antibiotics. (spicifically omniceff)
Once she was 10 months old they told me she needed tubes and again I trusted they knew what they were doing.

Well the tubes didn't do anything for her. She continued to have ear infections at the same rate and within 5 months one of the tubes fell out.

Now she is almost 3 years old and has 1 tube in and, from what I understand, it isn't really intact anymore. They want me to do the tubes again but if they didn't work the first time then why would I do it again?

She just finished a round of antibiotics (Omniceff) and still complains of ear pain.

Also, she always has fluid in her middle ear. Everytime we go to the doctor even if she doesn't have an ear infection she has a lot of fluid. Once doctor diagnosed her with "glue ear".

My eyes have just been opened to a lot of things including to not just blindly trust what doctors say. I am at the point where I don't even want go back to the doctor because they have had 3 years to help her and nothing.

What can I do to help my poor little girl? I have been hoping she would grow out of it but no luck yet.

If you got through all this thank you!

I would consider the possibility that she is allergic to dairy. That is frequently the culprit for recurrent ear infections. Also, by this time her gut is anihilated (sp?) from all the abx so you should also be giving her dairy free probiotics every day along with cod liver oil - both will help her heal.
I second the motion for dairy intolerance, and am continuously appalled that doctors don't think to recommend removing dairy with repeated ear infections.
Third for allergy.
Had chronic ear infections as a child (tubes twice) - was/am allergic to dairy. Also, my mother was a smoker - that was also to my detriment. They never figured it out (dairy allergy) but I eventually did. Though no one believed me, I cut it out as a little kid (I think I was 5-6, was just always adverse to it) and things improved eventually.
find a great chiropractor...my 3yo ear infections stopped when we started chiropractic care
fwiw ds got tubes, it did help for a year now he has infections + tubes that should have fallen out, they want to take them out but I'm not ready for him having another op

I know 2 other kids where the tubes did jack all
definitely take her to a chiropractor.

: for you and your dd.

I would look into her being allergic to dairy, a very large number of kids w/ recurrent infections see that resolved when going dairy free. I was reading that over in Brittain it is the first thing they look at when there are recurrent infections.
Thank you all for your replys!
About 4 weeks ago we went to raw milk so do you think that makes a difference? I'm wondering if I should cut out all processed dairy or if it really makes any difference.

I value all of your opinions. Thanks!
Raw milk, may help, but doesn't seem to most of the time. You will need to cut out all dairy to establish whether she has a sensitivity to it.

No, not really. You will need to cut out 100% of all dairy, including educating yourself on all the hidden ingredients that have dairy. For example, most deli meats have sodium caseinate which is a dairy ingredient. It really has to be all or nothing for most people and it certainly should be "all" for quite some time, IMO.

1. Stop all dairy.
2. Probiotics
3. Classical homeopathy
4. Chiropractic adjustments

These will resolve ear infections.

Pat
Im going to be different here.

My older son had infection, after infection up until he was about 3. He was losing complete hearing in one ear, as fluid was never draining and it kept getting re-infected.
We had him tested for all allergies/and eliminated things. Nothing worked.

The only thing that DID work for us, was a three month regime of antibiotics. Gulp. Three freakin months on antibiotics, allowed the fluid to drain without getting reinfected, and since then he has not had yet ONE ear infection, and his hearing has come back(hes 15 now) in that one ear.

I didn't want to do it, but it was either that or tubes and I didn't really want to go with tubes.
I had a very good ENT doctor/pediatrician and actually it really did clear it up.

Luckily DS2 has only had two ear infections in his life(hes almost 5 now).
