i know this might be a strange problem, but my dd is 7 months old, way off the charts weight wise (she was 23 lbs. at 6 mos) and i feel completely drained. I lost the pregnancy weight right away and now my dh says my butt is disappearing. I feel run down all the time, and for the last 3 weeks have been EXTREMELY tired and lacking energy. Its more than just the normal baby taking a lot of work, i feel like i need more vitamins and im hungry all the time. I eat 3 eggs for breakfast, a meat sandwich for lunch, snack throughout the day and for dinner for example a whole ribeye steak, pottatos and veggie, with double servings of the potatoes and veggies, but wake up starving. Ive started her on a few solids, esp. at dinner. For the last couple of nights she has nursed all night long. My first dd i quit nursing at 6 mos b/c of the same thing, and i was really trying to do extended bf with this one, but at this rate, i dont think i can keep up with her ever growing nutritional needs. at this point im considering weaning, feeling my own health might b at stake.

I was in your shoes too! I know exactly how you feel- we don't go out to eat unless it's a buffet

Okay tips to survive -

add another meal- I did this around afternoon snack time
snacks- cheese, nuts, nut butters
add fats to everything- avacado on your sandwiches, butter, olive oil etc in everything
have hardboiled eggs ready to snack on

that said- it lets up. dd still nurses like no tomorrow, but I'm not as absolutely starving all the time as I was awhile back. Hang in there!

I'm not quite there yet, but ds is way bigger that the girls were. Lately I've notices that I'm always hungry too. However, I havent managed to lose all of the baby weight yet, so there I'm jealous. I eat a lot to and try to remember that I won't always be able to eat like this, so I'm trying to enjoy it. I understand tho, about always being wore down. It will get better.
