Hi all,

For the past couple of days my dd has been peeing a lot. I think she went to the toilet between 20 times yesterday. She has been up a hour and urinated 4 times. There is always urine in the potty. We went to the beach last Thursday to this past Sunday. There was an increase in going to the potty there, too. She says it doesn't hurt so I'm thinking it's not a uti. We eat organic, very little sugar. I know if it keeps up I'll take her to the Dr. Could it be a phase? She's been potty learned for 6 months or so (except at night).

Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Michelle

I have to watch this thread- I almost posted the same thing myself! DS is almost 2 and we are potty learning now, and yesterday he peed about every 15 minutes! It was a decent amount of pee each time, as well- I can't measure it since it was usually in the form of accidents, but he soaked through his undies and pants each time, and some made it to the floor, or chair, or wherever he was, each time as well...

Ugh, I think I'm going to call her Dr soon...I really don't want to, she's never been for a sick visit. So far today, she's pee'd 7 times. 4 times in the first hour she was up, then at 10:28, 10:49, 10:53, 10:59

I posted a similar thread recently but I'm thinking it's more of a nervous habit. Dd1 will pee before we're leaving the house to go somewhere or before bed & then 1 minute later, she'll say she has to go again. It's such a small amount that I never even hear it trickle. She insists that a "teaspoon" comes out or a "drip." Since she doesn't do this throughout the day, it makes me think that it's anxiety related to needing to pee everything out since we'll either be leaving or going to bed.

If it's only a small amount of pee & no increase in water intake, I wouldn't be as concerned about diabetes (but a doctor visit is still probably a good idea.)

I'm considering getting a urine sample from my Dd just to be sure.

I read about interstitial cystitis too, I reeeeaally hope it's not that, for either of our children.

Thanks so much, that makes me feel better. My cat has had cystitis pretty much her whole life, Lysine is good for cystitis. I'm sure there are natural things we could try if it is either of those. Part of me thinks it may be related to the beach trip because she wanted to potty every few minutes when we were in the car! I hope your dd is okay, too
