Hi Mamas--

I know I've been absent from MDC in general for the past month or so...but it's May and I wanted to see how all the Dec babies are!

Natalie is doing well. She's getting so big, I can't believe it! She's babbling up a storm, loves to stand up, and is working on sitting. She can stay up by herself for a few minutes by tripodding, but then she tips over, ususally forward. She's rolled over in both directions. She loves to grab her toes and do "crunches."

She's teething, which makes her cranky sometimes. I feel so bad for her, but I also struggle to remain patient.: I really shouldn't complain--she's such an easy-going baby overall that a little crankiness when she doesn't feel well is to be expected. She had been sleeping in her crib for the first part of the night, then I would bring her into our bed when she woke up to nurse and keep her there the rest of the night. Since she's been teething, she won't sleep unless she's next to me! A couple of tough nights she couldn't sleep unless she was latched and when she relaxed enough to unlatch, she woke up screaming! Poor thing....luckily I don't have thrush anymore (THANK GOODNESS!!!!) so my nipples can take being a pacifier! (I've tried giving her the paci, but she spits it right out!)

One thing DH and I are surprised by is how social Natalie is! We're both introverts for sure, but somehow we managed to produce an extroverted child. She loves to be around people, even new people, and smiles and laughs at them. She does prefer to be held by mom or dad though, and gets upset when others try to pick her up. But from a distance, she's quite a party girl.

Aside from the teething, I'm really enjoying her a LOT! She's so curious about the world--it's really wonderful to see her grow and mature.

So, how's everyone else doing? Can't wait to hear!!

See pictures here.

There's new videos on her blog, too!

Hey there I don't post often enough but I have been listening in on updates. Keiran was born on the 23rd and just got back from his 4th month wbv. He's a little under 14lbs and 26" long. He babbles up a storm, especially when he's "talking" to the dog He loves mimicking sounds, especially deep growly sounds. He's laughing, giggling and smiling at just about everything. He's also very extroverted, loves people, music, you name it. He can roll over and thinks its the funniest thing ever. Still nursing like a champ and getting bigger everyday. This age is so much fun! I'll post pictures later, I'm on a friend's computer right now. Can't wait to hear how everyone else is doing. Peace~*

My hugh baby still hasn't rolled over. He has no interest and still hates being put on his tummy. He likes to sit up so he can see everything. He is finally starting to nap by himself. I still stay close and just watch him sleep. I love him so much.

I wasn't an MDC member when I was pregnant with Ezra, but I hope you don't mind if I join in!

Ezra got his first tooth on the 19th (bottom front left), and the other bottom one is almost out. Needless to say, sleep has been rather lacking in our household this month. I thank heavens for our sidecarred crib, or else none of us would get any sleep at all!

He has rolled from front to back, but not from back to front. He can sit unassisted for several minutes at a time, and loves to be standing in my lap. He is also a huge fan of the Ergo, and naps in it nearly every time he rides. It's great to be able to do things hands-free. Back carries are a real life saver.

Believe it or not, Ezra is 28 inches long and weighs 20 pounds. People regularly ask us if he is crawling/walking. He is in mostly 12-18 month clothing, with a little 18-24 thrown in for good measure. Had I known how fast he'd grow I wouldn't have spent so much money on 0-3 and 3-6 month stuff!

Here's a pic of him. Sorry it's so big.

Thanks for starting this thread feministmom. I love knowing what other little ones Ezra's age are doing, since I don't know anyone with a babe the same age as him.

Teo is doing great.
He's such a people person and will hold a 'conversation' with just about anyone who'll talk to him.
He isn't rolling over yet, but he's almost got back to front down. You can really see those skills on the changing table, he wants to pull the bear on the mirror to him, but usually ends up almost on his tummy.
We have a WBV tomorrow so I'll be back with those stats soon. But, last time I weighed him on the UPS scale, 2 weeks ago, he was 15 lbs.
He can sit on a lap so well, he can even balance at times. He chews on everything he can pull to his mouth, he loves to go to town on blankets and washcloths. He's really drooly too. I'm sure some more teeth will be joining the 2 he has, but I don't know when.

He still throws up quite a bit, not so much these last few days though. I've cut out dairy, kept an eye on my soy intake, and started a food diary. I'm hoping to find the culpurit soon.

The link in my siggy takes you to my flickr account with ALL Teo photos All the time.

Update:
Got back from our 4mo. WBV (only wbv so far) and everything went pretty well, I thought.
Babe weighs in at 15lbs 4oz and I THINK they said 28" long, maybe 23? I can't remember.
Either way, I didn't get lectured at or talked to. They asked questions, 'he's eating well?, he's sleeping well?' and I answered "yes" and that was it. No one said a thing about intact penis care (which is how it should be imo) and no one batted an eye when I said I want to delay vax.

We will be going in for an US to find out for sure where his testical is. The Dr. thought he had it, but isn't sure, so... Hopefully we'll have a good outcome, if not that, then something that can be correctly swiftly.

All in all, it was fine. perfect timing as well, his morning nap happened as soon as we got home.

Hi everyone!!

Abigail is doing so well!! She was born Dec. 28th. She's rolling over both ways, tries to scoot/push herself to get toys, and drools like the Nile river . She's also wanting to chew on everything, and I think she'll be sprouting a tooth soon. She babbles & tries sucking on her toes as well.

BFing is going so well, I love it!! Abby still nurses about every 1.5-2 hours, but I don't care . She sleeps well at night too, from about 9pm-2 or 3am, nurses, then sleeps til about 6am. All the kids just love her, love to make her laugh, and all that good stuff.

I have no idea what she weighs since we're not doing the WBV. If I had to guess, I'd say 13-14lbs. I'll probably bring her in at 6 mos just to ease DH's mind.

Here's a couple recent pics of her:

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL137.../249897020.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL137.../249897027.jpg

I LOVE reading everyone's updates & seeing cute baby pics!!

Kate is doing great. She is a big girl weighing in at 17lbs 3oz and 26 1/2 inches at her 4 month WBV. She finally rolled for the first time yesturday. She did both front to back and back to front in the same day. True Kate fashion, waiting till the last minute and then BANG. Just like her birth. She loves to her herself talk. The boys are having so much fun with her. She loves her brothers. She is really good with her hands and loves to play with them and chew on everything. She had her first tooth start to come through and form a blister two weeks ago, but it still hasnt' broke all the way through. Here are a couple pics and a video of her from the last week or two...

All the babies are so cute!!!! I love looking at the pics--keep 'em coming And I'm so glad to read updates from new folks, too!

For those who's babies have teeth...did it get better once the teeth broke through? Are there any signs that cutting the tooth is about to happen? I feel Natalie's been teething for a month now, but no tooth yet! Please tell me it will be over soon....

For us, the teeth were a complete surprise, some teething signs, chewing on hands, but that was about it.
I hope the rest are as easy, but I'm not counting on it.

For us, the teeth were NOT easy, and since there's another one on its way, we're still dealing with some symptoms. I have to say that it was worst with the first one though.

Ezra was so cranky and uncomfortable that two days before his tooth broke through he pretty much "whined" all day long. We tried ice cubes, frozen wash cloths, teething rings, even Motrin and nothing really worked. With this second tooth, there is lots of drooling and chewing, but no whining! Hooray!

Eli is a happy guy most of the time, which is nice b/c he certainly was NOT in the beginning. He smiles all the time and is vocalizing more and more, adding new sounds daily to his repertoire. He rolls from front to back but has never gone back to front. He loves to watch the cats and will always stop whatever he's doing to check them out. He hasn't gotten hold of them, yet. He also loves his big sister, who is constantly talking and moving and entertaining him with her silliness.

He nurses every 3 hours or so and that's going great. About 2 weeks ago, he began sleeping alllll the way through the night, like 8-11 hours straight. He goes down between 8:30 and 10:00pm and wakes around 7, usually. My breasts are trying to adjust. I usually have to get up in the early morning hours to pump. We have quite a stash in the freezer. He began sucking his thumb about a month ago, and that has helped with better sleeping and self-soothing.

We don't go out a whole lot b/c he isn't very happy in the carseat. I have joined a MOMS group and we are having so much fun with that. So nice to meet and hang out with other crunchy moms in my not-so-crunchy community. We do go out every day for walks. He loves to be in the sling, so usually when we go out that's where he is.

He is big, just over 17 pounds, and by the time he goes to bed at night I am so tired from carrying him and being with him all day. I REALLY want to get back into an exercise routine. I am not overweight, but I am stiff and sore in the neck and shoulders and just feel out of shape. I'm just trying to figure out exactly how to fit it into my life. I do yoga, at home, about once a week, and I should increase that too.

Here are some pics of my loves:
http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t...t=DCP_5361.jpg

http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t...t=DCP_5378.jpg

http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t...t=DCP_5348.jpg

http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rent=Lions.jpg

http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t...ent=zoo016.jpg

Izel is doing great. Hasn't rolled in a few weeks, but that's probably cause she can grab toys/blankets when she's in her tummy.

No teeth yet, although she's been a little cranky and drooling big time... so we'll probaby see some teeth soon.

she is 15 pounds and 25 inch, I get so tired if I'm not wearing her!! Thanks God for MT!!
here is a pict of her

http://picasaweb.google.com/Yaretzi0...65690060611010

I feel like Rini has morphed back into a newborn in many ways. Between the teething and trying to crawl, she's back to waking up regularly at night. Sometimes every 2 hours. I could handle this a lot better when I was on maternity leave still ...

Heh I thought that we were still posting in the old thread. I'm glad I "found" everyone. hehe. It's so interesting to me to see just how differently all our babies develop. I mean here's my DD born in early December, just NOW rolling over and then some of your babies a month younger are rolling both ways and doing other stuff.

I really love seeing all the pictures and updates and everything from everyone.

Lydia's next WBC is the 21st so I'll have to post her "stats" after that, but she finally weighs more than our cat. She's just now this week or so big enough for her 3-6m clothing, and she turned 5 months today. AND two days ago she FINALLY ROLLED OVER!!! There's a video of it in my blog. The first little bit is her trying and failing, the real roll comes towards the end of the 1-minute video. She has started laughing and thinks it's funny when I brush her face w/ my ponytail or shirt sleeve. So far she's still sleeping through the night. If you click her name I uploaded several new pics to her album today, too, including babywearing pics. Nursing is still going great. She hasn't had any solids yet, at this rate we'll probably be waiting until 7 months or longer.

PS Becky, WOW you have a big cat!

Oops, didn't realize there was a May thread so I posted this in the wrong place. I did manage to read all of the other thread while dd was snackin' and snoozin'. Loved hearing about all your babies! Copying it here:

Oh fun! A Dec thread. Mind if I join? I haven't read all the pages yet, but will.

Dd, Abigail was born Dec 5, at a birth center in the water. (I noticed Andrea's Lydia shares a birthday).

She has just been checking off milestones right and left lately. She holds and mouths toys, rolls tummy to back, loves to suck her toes (does this mainly on the changing table when we take off the dipe--those bulky cloth dipes make it hard to bend enough to get the feet up there), follows my voice, looks for me if I'm out of her sight for more than a minute or so, and just in the last couple of days, she's started reaching for me if someone else is holding her. Oh, and if I happen to walk by her when someone else has her or she's on the floor, and don't acknowledge her (or preferably pick her up), she gets the most heartbroken look on her face and just cries. She's been smiling for quite a while, and gets a laugh out every once in a while.

What she doesn't do; sleep during the day anywhere but in my arms, preferably latched on; ride happily in the car; play on the floor very long happily, and never by herself. But we're living with it.

I have 3 older dc who are homeschooled. We're 3 weeks away from wrapping up this school year and being on break. Yay! I love teaching them, but this teacher looks forward to break almost as much as they do.

We live on a farm, and raise grass-fed beef. I also garden and can. I'm a city girl born and raised, so when we moved to the farm of my dh's youth 3 years ago, I had a lot to learn. Thankfully, my MIL is just up the road and she's been great teaching me to garden, can, take care of and butcher chickens, etc.

Oh, and I'm a bit long-winded sometimes.

Subbing to the thread, will update later, other then to say taht Hannah has her first fever and a nasty cold : so here I am naking at 12:30 AM just to keep my brain busy. Fortunately it seems to be low-grade so I'm not doing anything except lots of comfort nursing... and more nursing... and more nursing...
