I have nothing much to chat about. Went to the library today, did some knitting (happy with what I made) and crocheting (NOT happy with what I am making), ate the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers (eating only stuffing for dinner isn't' that much fun) and generally had a nice day.
So happy to hear about D and Maya! Yup, good day all around I'd say.

I'm having a stress-free December because I told everyone that we're not doing gifts. I'll do something small for dh, dd and ds but that is it. And everything I have so far was bought at a garage sale or thrift store. I know dh and dd don't care either way. So I am enjoying not stressing.

Thanks for asking about my niece Amy. She's doing better; she didn't need surgery but was still knocked out for the cast and all. I have her for the rest of the week and boy you can't keep a 5 year old down for long

And I hear you on presents! We stopped doing gifts about 2 years ago when the family majorly expanded - there's 12 kids and 2 more on the way so it's just too expensive. With me being laid off and DH starting a new job, the money's just not there. And we always pick up stuff for them throughout the year at garage sales, and the library just had their annual book/video sale so I spent $10 and started a nice library for them
But I am doing the biggest splurge ever and buying annual passes to Disney come tax return time

Oh wow, the kids will love that! A giant theme park anytime all year long, it's like a kid's dream come true.

Hope everyone is doing well. We had a good thanksgiving although it was more stressful than I had hoped. Everyone thought they were doing so much to chip in bcs I usually do everything. I am a take charge kindof gal. It still was not as much help as I had hoped.
I am feeling pretty good but am pretty low energy lately. I have been having a lot of fears about this baby and still birth, etc. I am due in 2 wks.
Just had another still birth in the dec ddc. (it is the second so far). It just breaks my heart and freaks me out also.
Cyrus just turned 2 on the 2nd. I can't believe that he is 2 already. He is still pretty small so it is hard to believe. I think he might be 23lbs now but not sure.
We had my belly photo shoot today adn I can't wait to get the pics. She took over 400 shots of our family, most of them candid, so I think it will turn out really well.

Time to move on to December already? It always takes me a few days to realize why no one is posting on the subscribed thread (OF THE MONTH BEFORE!)

We are still settling into the new house. We have renters in our old place since we still haven't sold it.
: But having renters sure helps with the financial situation. We are still finishing our basement. We have two bedrooms down there and that is where our guest bedroom is...well my parents are here on the 23rd and we still need to lay some more laminate flooring and carpet, hang doors, trim windows and at least get some curtains up for them. A busy couple of weeks! But the good thing is, is that they are coming so they are forcing us to get it done.

Christmas lights are up, Christmas tree is up...now just need to clean and decorate the res of the house. Merry Christmas!

On the pregnancy and loss forum there is a Fiona baby that was lost. It's so sad.

I really love my life now. I got an ordiment (sp?) with Fiona's picture in it. This family of four really feels whole.

Cheryl...Glad you moved in good. There are no basements in California. I wish we could do projects like that. My husband wouldn't be in to doing them, but I love the before and after.

Fee is now sitting up on her own. Her babyhood is flying fast.

Oh my hair is still falling out. I'm going bald.

There usually aren't basements here either but we are on a hillside so we have a great daylight basement. I Love it!

My hair is falling out a lot too. I will miss the thick, wavy mane of pregnancy.

I wish the families of recent loss healing and comfort this Christmas season. It is always such sad news to hear of a baby loss.

Christine- My hair is just now slowing it's falling out process. For the past 2 months it has been giant globs of hair everywhere I go. I'm going bald too. I think it was taking a while for all the hair to catch up to all the pregnancies I had. First the m/c, then Calliope and then Ambrose. They were all fairly close and I'm probably losing hair I should have lost 2 year ago! I saw the Fiona in the loss area too and thought of you. It always makes me so very sad to see new mamas over there.

I wanted to add that Ambrose is loving that little crickle toy you sent way back when in the swap. He jumps and looks all over when I crinkle it.

theboysmama- Don't let those bad thoughts get to you!
Soon you will be busy with a newborn.

Cheryl- I'm glad you got someone to rent your old house. I'm with you, I like when I am forced to clean and finish up projects. I'd never get done otherwise.

Me- Decorations up as well and I love the holiday season! It makes me feel so happy to hear the music and see the tree. I've been working on a little something for Calliope's stocking. I made that tiny stocking last year and told myself I would add something new to it every year. This year I chose a teeny tiny stuffed rabbit. It is absolutely MINUSCULE! I couldn't believe it when I saw the pattern. I saw it and knew it was perfect.

I'm anxous too TBM. I got so nervous with my last that I had to be induced at 39 weeks. I'm not quite feeling that way, I think I can hold on for now, but the loss of Fiona is hitting that hard. This is also my second PAL and it is a little different but some things are always going to be harder.

I keep thinking too about my 3 year old, if something happens to me. I told my husband today that it made me sad and worried that he always forgets to put on my son's hat. I mean I know my husband would keep my son safe and wouldn't let him truly freeze, but I just had this moment of "If I'm not around, even if its just temporary, J won't ever be truly warm." And I needed to get some reassurance that he would watch out for that.

the 2nd PAL is definately different than the first. It is still very intense and wayyyyyy different than any of my pg before my losses. I haven't had a still birth. My losses were at 12.5 and 6 wks but losing a baby at any time opens your eyes to the possiblity that this doesn't just happen to other people it happening to you is just as likely. I think I am doing ok. I know worrying about it will not bring my baby here any safer or sooner. It is nice to have a place where I can share how I feel and you mamas understand. People in IRL tell me "oh it will be fine don't worry". Well, How the hell do they know if it will be fine
Thanks for letting me share.

Glad to see I'm not the only one going bald!
And I'm also sad to see new babies being lost when I'm lucky enough to have my perfect little Leo in my arms.
Happy December, mamas!

Me, too - going bald I mean. Seriously . . . .
If I remember correctly "peak" hair loss is somewhere
around 4 months pp, and I was pregnant with Will before
I reached that point after I had J.T. Now it's all coming out.
Will and I are thinking of joining the Hair Club for Babies and Mamas.

I enjoy (in all my free time) reading other peoples blogs . . . .
I found a neat one a bit ago - has anyone seen
namesinthesand.blogspot.com? It's by a loss Mama.

bluewatergirl...I just wanted to say I think of you and Will everytime I wrap Fiona in her rainbow baby blanket.

I really working at living in the now. I keep think 'what was I doing this time last year.' And at this time last year I had that scary u/s of Fiona's slow heartrate. The first year just flys by and I'm just want to enjoy it and not think about the past as much as I am.

Christine Gosh, I remember that, too. But no dwelling, you have Fiona here & healthy

Em Good to see you!! I think of you & Will alot, too
How are things going?

TBM Big hugs to you
Let it all out!!

Count me in the balding club, too
It's exceptionally bad when I'm in the shower and all the hair runs down my back and gets, uh, trapped
BUt beyond baldness, things are good. The boys are fighting like mad lately, like every time I turn around they're knock down dragout fighting
I'm hoping it gets better... please tell me it gets better! DH is pretty happy with his new job, except for the hours, he's gone before we get up and home way after dark, but at least one of us has a job, it's certainly slimmest of pickings here.

Anyone ever get pg while nursing? I've been exhausted, no appetite and my legs are sore. Maybe my body's just messing with me. I definitely want one more, but it's too soon right now...

I have gotten pg while nursing several times but never while the baby was still nursing exclusively and not taking any solids. At least not yet

I have been nursing since the day ds1 (6.5) was born and have nursed strait through. This will be my 3rd tandem nursing experience if all goes well.
I would suggest taking a pg test just to ease your mind and then paying really close attention to your cm and that should help you avoid till you are more ready.

Things are so busy here with the holidays and getting ready for baby. I am sick today and am just hoping it gets better before the little one decides to come.

Hey ladies! I know it's been a while since I've been here. I don't know if you remember, but my SIL lost her son (her first child) at 24 weeks last March which was just 6 months after my loss. He passed due to a fatal defect they found at her 20 week ultrasound. Anyway, I'm writing to request a few prayers.

My SIL is pg again and everything was going great. Her ultrasounds this time around looked fine. She went in this week for her routine appointment (she's at about 27 1/2 weeks right now) and her blood pressure was high, urine clear. They took it again before she left and it was still high so they did blood work, sent her home to do a 24-hr urine, and had her go back in early this morning. Her blood work came back normal, but this morning when they did her urine sample there was traces of protein. Her blood pressure was still up 146/90. Depending on her 24-hr urine results, they are talking about sending her in to L&D to see how the baby is doing and doing some monitoring. They are also talking about steriod shots to help develop baby's lungs in case she has to deliver early.

I know many women go through pre-eclampsia and I know her baby is beyond the point of "viability" but I'm sure you all understand how worried her husband is, how worried she is beginning to get, and how worried we all are for her. Even past the viability point, her delivering any time soon would be a struggle for the baby after birth.

Please say some prayers that her condition will be able to be kept under control until baby is mature enough to have a better chance at survival.

Thank you ladies,
