I was in hardcore denial before the solstice. Winter holiday events just sort of took over my whole radar. Now that all of that is over I am rushing to finish some wool diaper covers and assemble the birth supplies. WHERE DID THE TIME GO?! I miss those blustery September afternoons when my only concern was "can I feel the baby move?"

I feel remarkably chill. Although I haven't done anything. I have to pay for some diapers I ordered and then get my room ready. But lots of time. I always go to term or later so I don't feel rushed.

That's how I've been until the last week, then it suddenly hit me that these babies could come any time now. I want to make it to at least 36 weeks, and that's NEXT FRIDAY! How did that happen?! And the furthest they want me to go is 38 wks, which is just 3.5 more weeks. So now I've started going through and washing baby clothes. I need to get a dresser from my neighbor who offered us one and a few other baby gear things ladies from church have offered us. I'm going to get the crib set up in my room this week and start making a list of stuff for my hospital bag. Oh, and I need to order a twin nursing pillow soon too.

I'm right there with you!! I'm just 33 weeks now but I just realized today that 36w is only 3 weeks away! The midwife reminded me to have everything ready and in place by 36w...just in case. My babies come a little early and I'm hoping this one will too. Watch him come after my due date...just to throw us all off...lol!!

I don't have all that much to do - baby wise. I do have a lot of cleaning/organizing that I want to get done because I know once the baby is here I won't have the time/energy to do it.

I have an odd sense of hurry up and wait. This is our first baby and there is still a lot that we need but we are waiting until after the shower (J. 8th) to get it. I feels like we have LOTS of time and SO LITTLE time all at once.

Yeah, I'm 32 weeks, and I'm thinking that maybe we should decide on a boy name, and you know, maybe buy a carseat. I did get out newborn diapers the other day, and I'm planning to ask DH to get the baby clothes out of the attic so that I can sort and wash. My major things to do are, like I mentioned, 1) decide on a boy name, 2) buy a carseat, 3) buy (or at least choose) nursery decor, 4) pack hospital bag. The whole packing the hospital bag really should be a higher priority since I have had a 32 weeker before, have frequent braxton hicks, and am almost 1 cm dilated already, but eh.........so in denial! Is this just how it is with the 3rd one? I was so organized with my other two!

I hear you on choosing a name Mrs-Mama...we have her first and middle names picked out but not her last name. You know, the one that typically doesn't have the option of a nickname if she hates it.

I think my nesting has kicked in or I'm just having really, really productive insomnia. I've done loads of wash, cleaned the side car crib (should probably get a mattress for it cause the metal springs don't look safe or comfy to sleep on ), done my hypnosis, had a bath, organized the diaper stash (um, it just dawned on me that with pocket diapers I have to remove the soiled insides, right? How is that not just the yuckiest thing ever? Am I wrong? Can you wash them with their insides still in?), dusted/cleaned the nursery furniture...

Of course, if I nesting that probably means something is going on with her being ready, right? One doesn't nest for like 8 weeks right? (PLEASE say it can happen!!!) I'm not a cleaner/organizer/typeAer by any stretch of the imagination if that helps with your conclusion any...

Ive heard of people nesting like a month before having their baby then being totally exhausted for the last 2-3 weeks. Kind of makes sense in a way to me, you get everything done then rest before the baby comes..Personally Ive never nested so I don't know!

You do need to remove the soiled inserts. I have, on occasion, washed a diaper or two with the insert still in (by accident), but it doesn't always come out of the diaper while washing, and worse, it can get bunched up and not get clean well at all. Plus it's soaking wet still since it doesn't spin out correctly. It's not the yuckiest thing ever to pull out the inserts. Nothing about infant poop is the yuckiest thing ever...toddler poop, on the other hand....

Oh, gosh, I just realized that we don't actually have any names ready.

Hah, the kid needs a name?!

Yeah, that might be the denial part, we have SO much time!

DH said that if you wanted to use one of the names we didn't you could! On the other hand, I don't think there is anything wrong with, "Announcing Mr. Popcorn Pixiekisses'Lastname the new senator from Rhode Island!" or "Your new Miss America Miss Popcorn Pixiekisses'Lastname!" I'm sure the right name will come to you...

Thanks for the diaper help Mrs-Mama!

Heather, um, you did see that I'd like 8 weeks, right? Not a month! lalalalalalala....

Jenne- haha I was thinking the fact Im almost 35 weeks so the baby will come anywhere between 5-7 weeks from now (barring him deciding to make an early appearance), I keep forgetting Im due in the beginning of the month, not the middle or end. My daughters were due in the middle/end of the month and now my brain isn't processing being due in the beginning of the month.

Maybe I need to go back to sleep

Oh and names are overrated, Im sure the baby won't mine being called "HEY YOU!!"

haha According to the wheel thing Im due the 1st, according to me (and it matches the early ultrasound I had) Im due the 6th. I keep saying that Im having the baby Superbowl Monday (Sunday over there) so I don't have to wash clothes or install carseats until the first of Feb.. My friend whos watching my girls told me if I go early bring the laundry over and she will wash it for me so at least if I don't get it done I have a backup planAlthough its kind of tempting for "forget" to do it since Im not a fan of laundry.

My oldest daughters birthday is the 29th so I really hope to get that out of the way BEFORE the baby comes. Specially since DH decided this was the best time to annouce to everyone we were going to have a party for her. Cause i have the energy at 38/39 weeks to host a birthday party for like 30 guests, make cupcakes, do decorations etc then do a family party the next weekend for just our family (because I can't bring myself NOT to do a party for the family on her birthday) which means I need to make another cake, food, decorations, a few fun things to do. Luckily, DD is just turning 4 and doesn't care as long as its Hello Kitty.

ETA: both my girls were born on the date given by the ultrasound so maybe this one will be too. It would be funny at least to have three babies born on their "due date" according to ultrasounds. I don't go by the wheel thingie since my body isn't a textbook so I don't necessarily ovulate when they say I should.

Ugh Okimom, a big party at 39 wks does not sound appealing. The night before our annual Christmas party this year I was passing a kidney stone. Needless to say I leaned on my husband to get the cooking and cleaning done in time. Will your husband be able to help you out?
